Shape ICU service development through leadership, education and innovation Permanent part time opportunity (68.4 hours per fortnight) About the role Join the Intensive Care Unit as an ICU Specialist and provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients across a diverse clinical caseload. Working collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health teams, you will provide specialist critical care, support complex patient management. This is an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the ICU service through clinical leadership, education, research, quality improvement and contemporary practice. Experience in cardiac surgical patients is essential, with paediatric intensive care and adult ECMO experience highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, high-quality critical care to ICU patients, providing evidence-based, patient and family-centred care and consultative support across the organisation Provide clinical leadership and collaboration within ICU, working closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams to coordinate effective patient care, including participation in the after-hours consultant on-call roster Drive education, quality and service improvement through supervision and teaching of junior medical staff, participation in clinical governance, research and quality improvement activities Maintain professional and organisational standards through accurate documentation, effective information management, professional development, mandatory training, occupational health and safety, and compliance with Barwon Health policies and relevant legislation What we’re looking for Medical degree with eligibility for registration with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Intensive Care Medicine (ANZCA/ANZICS-eligible CICM Fellowship) Demonstrated specialist experience in Intensive Care Medicine, including proven expertise in the management of cardiac surgical patients Demonstrated commitment to delivering patient and family-centred care and contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of Intensive Care services Excellent communication, teamwork and clinical leadership skills, with experience or interest in paediatric intensive care and/or adult ECMO highly regarded Position Description Please note Barwon Health will only contact you via our official email and never use unconventional means, such as text messaging or other services.
