This is a hands-on, field-based role specialising in the installation and commissioning of Boon Edam revolving doors, automatic entrance systems and physical security products . You will work across a wide variety of commercial, construction and customer sites, taking installations from initial site setup through mechanical and electrical installation, system setup and commissioning, to final customer handover. The role would suit someone with a strong mechanical, electrical or electromechanical background who enjoys practical engineering, fault finding, problem solving and working across different projects and locations. You do not need previous Boon Edam experience. Product-specific and technical training will be provided to the successful candidate. Key Responsibilities As an Installation Engineer, your responsibilities will include: - Installing and commissioning Boon Edam revolving doors, automatic entrance systems and security entrance products - Carrying out mechanical and electrical installation works - Assembling, positioning, aligning and adjusting door and security system components - Installing and connecting motors, sensors, controls and associated equipment within your level of competence - Completing system setup, testing and commissioning - Diagnosing and resolving installation and commissioning issues - Reading and working from technical drawings, wiring diagrams and installation manuals - Liaising professionally with customers, main contractors, site managers and other trades - Ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standard - Completing installation, commissioning, snagging and handover documentation - Working in accordance with company procedures, site Health & Safety requirements, RAMS and PPE requirements - Maintaining company tools, equipment and vehicles to the required standard - Representing Boon Edam professionally while working on customer and construction sites What We’re Looking For We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in installation engineering or a related mechanical, electrical or electromechanical field. Relevant backgrounds could include: - Automatic doors and entrance systems - Electrical installation - Mechanical installation - Access control - Gate automation - Physical security systems - Lift or escalator engineering - Electromechanical equipment - Automated equipment - Construction-site installation Essential Requirements - Strong practical mechanical and electrical skills - Previous experience in an installation, engineering, service or similar field-based role - Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability - Ability to read and understand technical drawings and installation instructions - Comfortable using hand and power tools - Good communication and customer-facing skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Willingness to work on customer and construction sites - A practical, organised and safety-conscious approach to work - Full clean Irish driving licence - Must be legally authorised to work in Ireland Desirable Experience Experience in any of the following would be an advantage: - Automatic doors - Revolving doors - Sliding or swing door automation - Access control systems - Physical security products - Speed lanes or security lanes - Electromechanical installations - Gate automation - Construction-site installation - Automated equipment commissioning - Electrical controls and sensors - Boon Edam products Previous Boon Edam experience is not essential , and full product-specific training can be provided.
