We are looking for an Infrastructure Software Engineer to join a team responsible for building and operating large-scale distributed database and storage infrastructure. The role focuses on designing low-latency, highly available, and strongly consistent systems , working with replication, partitioning, consensus mechanisms, caching, and fault tolerance. The engineer will develop performance-critical solutions using Go, Rust, or C++ , troubleshoot complex production issues, and contribute to the scalability, reliability, and long-term evolution of distributed data platforms. Responsibilities - Design and maintain distributed database systems - Build low latency and strongly consistent data infrastructure - Design and optimise replication mechanisms - Work with consensus and coordination mechanisms - Develop caching solutions - Improve availability and performance - Maintain data durability - Develop performance critical systems in Go and Rust - Operate production systems - Troubleshoot complex production issues - Participate in system design reviews - Participate in postmortems and reliability improvements - Work with infrastructure and product engineering teams - Support development of the longer term infrastructure roadmap Requirements - Minimum 5 years professional software engineering experience - Strong distributed systems fundamentals - Replication - Consistency - Partitioning - Fault tolerance - Experience building database platforms, distributed databases, storage systems or large scale database infrastructure - Go, Rust, C++ or similar systems programming language - Production systems experience - Strong debugging skills - Strong performance analysis skills - Raft, Paxos, ZooKeeper, etcd Benefits - Fully remote working model - Solid, competitive salary - Work in a multinational environment on international projects - Comprehensive healthcare - Long-term B2B contract with a stable project pipeline Originally posted on Himalayas
