Information Technology Officer

Role Description:

The Information Technology Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, supporting ITEC’s construction and corporate operations. The role involves maintaining and monitoring IT systems, networks, and hardware to ensure reliable performance across offices and project sites. The engineer will provide technical support to team members, diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues, and manage user accounts and access rights. Daily tasks include implementing and reviewing network security measures, managing backups and updates, coordinating with external vendors, and documenting IT procedures and incident resolutions. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of IT infrastructure to support evolving project and business needs.

What you need to be qualified:

• Candidates should possess strong Information Technology and Technical Support skills, including hands-on experience with desktops, laptops, peripherals, and common business applications.
• Candidates should possess Networking skills, including configuring and maintaining switches, routers, wireless networks, and basic IP addressing.
• Candidates should possess Network Security skills, such as implementing firewalls, antivirus solutions, access control, and security best practices.
• Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose, prioritize, and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
• Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSA) are an advantage.
• Strong communication skills, service-oriented attitude, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a construction environment.
• Experience supporting on-site project teams, familiarity with construction-related software and systems, and the ability to work independently under time-sensitive conditions.
• Those who are in UAE and can join immediately is an added advantage.

What you should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in IT, including leadership or management responsibilities. Preferably within Construction Industry.
• Strong expertise in network administration, server management, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, hardware, and software systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure, system architecture, and enterprise technology management.
• Familiarity with software commonly used in design, architecture, or construction companies, with the ability to support creative and technical teams.
• Demonstrable hands-on expertise in enterprise networking (L2/L3), VLANs, high availability routing, AV and firewall deployments (NGFW, IPS, SSL inspection).
• Strong experience with network security, policy management, and enforcement of 802.1X authentication.
• Deep exposure to deployment and management of secure wireless infrastructures (WPA3-Enterprise, RADIUS), and guest isolation.
• Proven ability to implement VPN technologies (IPsec/SSL, MFA integration).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Active Directory architecture, Group Policy, RBAC, and identity security best practices.
• Proficiency in endpoint security, device hardening, disk encryption, and patch management via centralized tools.
• Backup and recovery management (NAS, enterprise backup tools), hybrid cloud networking (Azure, AWS or similar).
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and thorough documentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills aimed at both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with evolving technologies and threats.
