Information Technology Director

IT Director:

The IT Director leads Whitman County's Information Technology Department and is accountable for keeping County systems, applications, and data secure, reliable, and available.

This is a working director position. Along with planning, budgeting, and supervising staff, the Director performs hands-on technical work alongside the team and must be able to carry out essential technical duties without relying solely on subordinates or contractors.

Experience, Education, and Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field; and
Five years of progressively responsible IT experience, including substantial hands-on systems administration, networking or infrastructure work; and
Three years of supervisory, management or technical team leadership experience.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between County facilities.
Ability to respond to critical system failures and security incidents outside normal hours.

Preferred:

Public-sector IT experience, especially supporting public safety, courts or emergency management systems.
Experience as a working IT manager or director
Familiarity with Washington State public records or public-sector procurement.
GIS experience.
Certifications such as CompTIA Secruity+, CISSP, CISM, Microsoft, or Cisco.

Salary: $9,167- $11,667/month DOQ
