Analyze security requirements with respect to available network infrastructure, firewall capacity, budget, tools, and required security controls. Participate in security architecture design in compliance with industry standards such as Zero Trust, NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls, including secure network topology design. Perform security design using threat trees, attack surface maps, network data flow diagrams, firewall rule matrices, and risk assessment frameworks. Participate in security control development considering best practices such as defense in depth, least privilege, secure SDLC, DevSecOps, and network firewall hardening principles. Coordinate with management, IT operations, network engineering, development teams, and compliance officers by attending daily stand-ups and sprint security reviews. Configure security tools according to client specifications, including next-generation firewalls (NGFW), IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, SIEM solutions, and network access controls (NAC). Develop automation scripts and security services using standard programming languages, including Python, PowerShell, and Go, and modern security frameworks, including automated firewall rule auditing and network monitoring integrations. Perform periodic security posture optimization, monitor key security KPIs (e.g., mean time to detect, mean time to respond, vulnerability aging, firewall rule utilization), and conduct health checks on security controls and network devices. Analyze change requests raised by clients or internal stakeholders (e.g., new feature deployment, network changes, firewall policy updates) and implement security updates following best practices. Actively participate in peer reviews of security configurations, firewall rule sets, network segmentation designs, detection rules, incident response playbooks, and automation code. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Network Engineering, Computer Networking, Information Technology, or related field Two years of experience in Network and Security Engineer, Senior Network Engineer, Manager IT, Information Security Engineer, Senior Network and Security Specialist, or related positions 2 years of experience in information security operations and network security Two years of experience in firewall configuration and management (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA). Two years of experience with security tools such as SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms. Two years of experience in network monitoring and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump). Two years of experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Two years of experience with version control systems such as GitHub for managing security scripts and playbooks. Frequent travel to unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. required
