As a $30+ billion business and technology services, AI and digital infrastructure leader, we co-innovate solutions with clients and partners globally for business and societal impact. Serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100, with experts in over 70 countries, we encourage experimentation and recognize great work. Proudly a Global Top Employer, NTT DATA is part of NTT Group, which invests over $3 billion annually in R&D. Make this the place where you belong, learn, and build your network. Make this the place where you grow. Programme leadership: Own end-to-end delivery of the IDP programme, from roadmap and platform capability development through pilot, rollout, adoption and transition into ongoing operation. Client leadership: Act as a trusted delivery partner to senior client technology and engineering stakeholders, providing clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies and decisions. Platform roadmap: Work with client stakeholders, architects and engineering leads to translate strategic objectives into a prioritised IDP roadmap and delivery plan. Enterprise rollout: Plan and manage the onboarding of engineering teams and applications onto the platform in controlled waves, coordinating technical readiness, dependencies and adoption activities. Backlog and demand: Own programme-level prioritisation and coordination across platform capabilities, integrations, onboarding requirements and engineering demand. Cross-workstream delivery: Coordinate Platform Engineering, Cloud, DevOps, Security, Architecture, Developer Experience and application teams required to deliver the platform successfully. Governance: Establish effective programme governance covering milestones, deliverables, RAID, dependencies, decisions, financials, resource planning and delivery forecasting. Adoption and value: Track platform adoption and outcomes, including engineering-team onboarding, use of self-service capabilities, developer experience and improvements in delivery efficiency. Technical assurance: Ensure that technical dependencies, integration requirements, non-functional requirements and operational readiness are understood and incorporated into the delivery plan. Team leadership: Lead and coordinate a distributed team of architects, engineers, product specialists and project resources across onshore, nearshore and offshore locations. Stakeholder management: Manage relationships across senior client leadership, engineering teams, product owners, security, operations and other technology functions, resolving competing priorities and removing delivery blockers. Transition to run: Ensure appropriate support models, ownership, governance, documentation and operational processes are established as the platform moves into ongoing operation and continuous improvement. Technical depth: Strong previous experience within Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE or a closely related engineering discipline. Candidates who have only managed technical programmes without working closely with the underlying technologies are unlikely to have the technical depth required. IDP knowledge: Strong understanding of Internal Developer Platforms and Developer Portals, including concepts such as developer self-service, service catalogues, golden paths, software templates, platform APIs and developer experience. Technical delivery leadership: 10+ years in technology roles, including significant experience leading complex enterprise technology programmes or platform transformations. Programme and project management: Demonstrable experience managing large, multi-workstream technology programmes involving architecture, engineering, security, infrastructure and application teams. Enterprise rollout: Experience taking a new technology platform or engineering capability from initial implementation through pilot and enterprise-scale adoption. Platform Engineering: Good understanding of modern Platform Engineering principles, including platform-as-a-product, developer experience, automation, standardisation and self-service. DevOps ecosystem: Working knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Git-based engineering workflows, containers, cloud platforms and software delivery automation. Client-facing leadership: Credible and confident working with senior client technology stakeholders, including CTO, CIO, Engineering, Architecture and Platform leadership. Delivery governance: Strong experience managing plans, milestones, RAID, dependencies, resources, financials and delivery reporting across complex technical programmes. Stakeholder leadership: Proven ability to align multiple technology teams and business stakeholders around a common roadmap and resolve complex cross-organisational dependencies. Nice to Have IDP delivery: Direct experience implementing or scaling an Internal Developer Platform or enterprise Developer Portal. Backstage: Experience with Backstage or another enterprise developer portal / IDP technology. Platform product management: Experience applying product-management principles to internal platforms, including roadmap prioritisation, customer feedback, adoption and measurement of platform outcomes. Developer adoption: Experience leading enterprise onboarding and change programmes involving multiple engineering teams, products or business units. Cloud platforms: Experience delivering platforms spanning AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Distributed delivery: Experience leading blended onshore, nearshore and offshore engineering teams. Agile delivery: Experience leading complex technical delivery using Agile, product-led or hybrid programme delivery approaches. Technologies & Concepts Working knowledge across the following areas is expected; deep hands-on expertise in every technology is not required: Internal Developer Platforms: Developer self-service, platform APIs, developer portals and platform-as-a-product principles. Developer Portals: Backstage or equivalent technologies. Service Catalogue: Software components, systems, APIs, ownership, metadata and lifecycle management. Golden Paths: Standardised application templates, paved roads and reusable engineering patterns. CI/CD: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalent enterprise delivery tooling. Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or equivalent provisioning technologies. Containers & Orchestration: Kubernetes and container-based application platforms. Cloud: AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud. GitOps & Automation: Git-based workflows, automated provisioning and configuration. Security & Governance: Integration of security controls, policy, identity, secrets and compliance into developer workflows. Platform Integration: Integration with source control, CI/CD, cloud platforms, observability, security, ITSM and enterprise identity services. Developer Experience: Understanding developer journeys, cognitive load, engineering productivity and adoption measurement. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know. Join us in building a truly diverse and empowered team. You will lead the enterprise delivery and rollout of an Internal Developer Platform (IDP), working with client technology leaders, engineering teams, architects and platform engineers to establish the platform as a strategic capability across the organisation. The role will lead the programme from roadmap and initial platform capabilities through pilot, enterprise rollout, adoption and transition into ongoing operation and product development. This is not a generalist programme or project management role. You are not expected to be the hands-on technical lead, but you will need sufficient Platform Engineering, DevOps and cloud experience to understand the technology, challenge designs and estimates, manage complex technical dependencies and build credibility with senior engineering stakeholders. You will combine strong technical delivery leadership with programme management, stakeholder management and client advisory skills, ensuring that platform capability and organisational adoption progress together.
