Responsibilities

The USDS Identity and Access Management Team is responsible for designing, operating and maintaining an IAM program with a mission to identify and protect sensitive data against unauthorized access, use and disclosure. We strive to establish secure and compliant processes around provisioning, deprovisioning and governance of access and usage of USDS data and infrastructure proactively identifying and reducing risks. As an IAM Developer, you will work closely with a team of security and privacy team members, business operations partners, developers and cross-functional engineers to define and deliver solutions. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing advanced applications using Microservice and Serverless architecture, REST, gRPC, Python, Message Queue, Spark and SQL/No-SQL databases. You will also design and implement reusable, modular, and scalable services, classes or modules. In addition, you will analyze and optimize data pipeline performance, including data preparation, transformation and loading times, while introducing innovative intelligent solutions with AI and LLMs. Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot in-house applications to serve internal and external teams - Review existing legacy application code to determine re-usability and customization, including options for microservices - Provides software engineering using frameworks and libraries such as REST, gRPC, FastAPI/Flask, Asyncio, Pytest, unittest, Pandas, Numpy, etc. - Re-design application and data modules with SQL/No-SQL databases and Microservice framework - Optimize performance to ensure a fast and seamless user experience - Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends, and educate engineers and PMs about new product possibilities enabled by these new technologies - Define metrics and create / maintain dashboards by integrating in-house / external dashboarding tools - Collaborate cross-functionally with both business and technical teams to gather functional requirements for in-house and external technologies

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelors' Degree in the field of computer science / engineering or industry equivalent work experience and 5+ years of working experience using Python and a good understanding of multithreading and multiprocessing - 3+ years of microservice based development experience in Flast/FastAPI + REST or gRPC/Thrift with IDL and Serialization - Demonstrable experience with backend technologies, containerization with docker, Kubenetes, and SQL databases like MySQL, Postgres or NoSQL databases like MongonDB, ElasticSearch - 3+ years of working experience on one of cloud platforms, e.g. AWS, GCP or Azure - 3+ years of working experience with Spark - Ability to quickly learn and assimilate new tools/technologies and rapidly adapt and iterate - Ability to collaborate in a multi-functional team environment with diverse backgrounds to meet strategic and tactical objectives as well as work independently as an individual contributor Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of working experience with one of Message Queue Systems, e.g. Kafka - Experience with unit test frameworks e.g. pytest, unittest and adopting automated and manual test strategies to ensure product quality - Working experience of Hive and HDFS will be a big plus - Working experience for Golang will be a big plus - Knowledge and working experience with Machine Learning/Deep Learning and LLM will be a big bonus

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $147200 - $269800 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
