Scope of Role We are looking for an ICT Field Service Engineer to join our customer support and infrastructure team. You will provide remote and onsite technical support, deliver infrastructure projects, and help maintain secure and reliable IT environments for our customers. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and supporting a wide range of technologies across multiple environments. Regular travel to customer sites is required, and a full clean driving licence is essential. Responsibilities - Provide remote and onsite support for customer infrastructure, networks, servers and Microsoft 365 environments. - Diagnose and resolve technical issues, taking ownership through to completion. - Install, configure and maintain servers, virtual environments, networking equipment and related infrastructure. - Support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions. - Monitor systems, perform proactive maintenance and implement improvements. - Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations and customer projects. - Maintain accurate technical documentation and customer records. - Work with colleagues, vendors and customers to deliver high-quality support and service. - Apply security best practices, including patching, access controls, MFA and endpoint protection. Qualifications and Experience - Minimum 2 years' experience in an ICT support, infrastructure or engineering role. - Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop and Windows Server environments. - Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online. - Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls and VPNs. - Experience with Active Directory, DNS and DHCP. - Familiarity with virtualisation and backup technologies. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and customer service abilities. - Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. - Full clean driving licence. Experience with some of the following would be beneficial: - Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies. - Hyper-V and VMware. - Backup and recovery platforms. - Endpoint security, antivirus and email security solutions. - Network monitoring and management tools. - Firewall and VPN technologies. - PowerShell, Python or other automation tools. - Cybersecurity, vulnerability management and incident response.
