HVAC Draftsman

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Draftsman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed HVAC system drawings for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure that HVAC systems are designed, installed, and maintained according to industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop detailed HVAC drawings, plans, and schematics for system installation, upgrades, and modifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Create mechanical, plumbing, and electrical (MPE) system drawings using AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Assist in reviewing and updating as-built drawings and project specifications.
• Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to construction teams during installation.
• Maintain and organize project files, drawings, and documentation.
• Review project designs for accuracy, completeness, and functionality.
• Assist in coordinating and managing the workflow of design projects to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an HVAC Draftsman or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for HVAC system drafting.
• Strong understanding of HVAC design, ductwork, piping, and system layout.
• Familiarity with building codes, zoning laws, and safety standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
• Experience in preparing submittals, schematics, and system specifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher in HVAC technology, engineering, or related field preferred.
• MINIMUM OF 2* YEARS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED*.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification or licensure in HVAC design or drafting.
• Experience with building information modeling (BIM).
• Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC systems and sustainable building practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
