JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Human Resources Manager will be based at our headquarters in Seattle and will oversee HR operations across all company locations, managing remote teams with occasional travel as needed. This strategic leadership role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, fostering a positive workplace culture, and managing employee relations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in multi-state HR management, leave administration, and accommodations, with a strong ability to lead and support HR functions remotely. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES: Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Partner with hiring managers to define roles, create job descriptions, and manage postings Post job ads across multiple platforms including job boards, company website, and professional networks to attract diverse and qualified candidates Lead interview and selection processes Recommend competitive compensation packages Oversee onboarding to ensure smooth integration into company policies, benefits, and culture HR Operations & Compliance Administer payroll and employee benefits Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all locations Manage unemployment claims, state tax filings, and other regulatory requirements Maintain and update employee handbook and HR policies Evaluate and recommend benefits strategies to ensure offerings remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs Lead offboarding processes and exit interviews Leave & Accommodation Management Administer leave programs including PTO, FMLA, and other statutory leaves Ensure compliance with state-mandated leave programs such as Washington’s Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) Coordinate and manage employee accommodations in compliance with ADA and other applicable laws Provide guidance to managers on leave and accommodation policies Employee Relations & Development Support performance management processes, including reviews and improvement plans Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture Provide coaching and support to managers on employee relations issues Promote employee engagement and retention initiatives Safety & Collaboration Collaborate with site leadership to support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA standards Assist in coordinating safety training and documentation as needed Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve employee experience Stay current on HR trends, technologies, and best practices EXPERIENCE (QUALIFICATIONS) Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including multi-state HR management Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices Experience managing leave programs and employee accommodations Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills SHRM-CP or PHR certification strongly preferred SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES: High integrity and confidentiality Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace JOB REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner as well as: Subject to a pre-employment background check and drug test This is an onsite position (Seattle office) and not a remote one PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands of the job are limited to that of an office environment, with occasional trips to regional offices and working with users in a shop or warehouse environment. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will be primarily working indoors in both warehouse and office environments.
