Human Resources Generalist
Temporary Assignment: 3-6 months Job Overview The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted resource to employees and managers by providing guidance and support on employee relations matters, HR policies, performance management, and workplace concerns. This position partners with management to promote a positive work environment, ensure consistent application of employment policies and practices, and support employee engagement and retention efforts. The HR Generalist is responsible for managing employee relations activities, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, administering various HR processes, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies. This role also supports performance management processes, HR reporting, and other departmental initiatives. The HR Generalist works collaboratively with leadership and the Human Resources team to provide responsive, high-quality service to employees and management while supporting organizational goals and objectives. Employee Relations Serve as the point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to employees and managers regarding workplace issues, policies, and procedures. Partner with managers to address employee performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace concerns while ensuring consistency and compliance with organizational policies. Conduct and document employee relations investigations, interviews, and fact-finding activities as needed. Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers on performance management, conflict resolution, corrective action, and employee development. Support employee engagement and retention initiatives that foster a positive and productive work environment. Assist with disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and employee separations in accordance with established policies and employment laws. Conduct exit interviews and identify trends and recommendations for improving employee retention and engagement. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Coordinate recruitment activities for assigned positions, including posting job openings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and participating in candidate selection processes. Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies. Conduct initial candidate screenings and provide recommendations to hiring managers. Support onboarding activities to ensure a positive and compliant new hire experience. Maintain applicant tracking records and recruitment documentation. HR Administration and Compliance Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity. Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, leave programs, HR policies, and employment procedures. Generate and maintain HR reports, metrics, and documentation related to workforce data, turnover, leave administration, and other HR activities. Support HR audits, compliance reviews, and recordkeeping activities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, organizational policies, and HR best practices. General HR Support Assist with employee training and development initiatives. Participate in HR projects, process improvement efforts, and departmental initiatives. Provide excellent customer service to employees, applicants, managers, and external stakeholders. Uses discretion and judgment in handling highly sensitive legal and management issues. Cross-train and provide support for various HR functions as needed. Promote the organization's mission, vision, values, and commitment to service excellence. Perform other related duties as assigned.
