As our Human Resources Generalist, you'll partner with managers across multiple states, support a diverse workforce, and help shape recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and HR programs that directly impact our company's success. Job Summary: The Human Resource Generalist plays a critical role in providing HR support to our employees across the country, including Washington, Colorado, Virginia, and Maryland. You will be responsible for various HR operations including employee relations, recruiting, and onboarding. Your expertise in HR practices will ensure compliance and foster a positive work culture that supports the development and retention of our talented workforce. What Success Looks Like: Build strong relationships with managers across multiple sites. Lead full-cycle recruiting for operational positions. Ensure HR processes remain compliant across multiple states. Help improve HR systems, documentation, and employee communications. Contribute to a positive employee experience that supports retention and organizational growth. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day human resource support. Support and create HR-related processes, documentation, forms, and employee communication. Review and maintain HR policies, procedures, forms and process manuals to improve operational efficiency and compliance. Lead recruiting efforts. Manage job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, onboarding coordination, and applicant tracking activities. Recruit, screen, and evaluate candidates for operational and frontline positions, including hard-to-fill roles. Assist with analyzing candidate qualifications and determining applicant suitability for employment opportunities. Maintain recruitment records, applicant tracking, and documentation in compliance with EEO guidelines for vets and people with disabilities. Prepare offer letters, onboard documentation, and new hire processing activities. Process onboarding documentation including I-9s, E-Verify submissions, tax forms, licenses, competencies, background checks, and employee records as needed. Conduct background checks, motor vehicle record checks, and other employment-related screenings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, EEO, OFCCP, HIPAA, and company regulations and policies. Ensure current state and federal employment forms are updated and available annually. Occasional travel to company worksites may be required. All Other Duties/Projects as Assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years’ experience in Human Resources across multiple HR disciplines. Experience with the Service Contract Act (SCA), including wage determinations, health and welfare fringe benefits, and related compliance requirements, required. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP), preferred. Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Experience working in unionized environments or willingness to learn collective bargaining agreements and labor relations preferred. Demonstrated ability to build positive employee relationships while balancing business needs and employment law. Experience in talent acquisition strategies and best practices. Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as off hours and weekends, in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Security Requirements: Must have the ability to acquire Federal Security Clearance. Required drug screening, physical, and background check. Driving Requirements: A valid state driver license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by HMG’s insurance company.
