Title: Human Resources Generalist Exemption Status: Exempt Reports To: Chief Fiscal Officer OVERVIEW: The Human Resources position working closely with the leadership team plays a pivotal role in transforming CWI’s culture under Servant Leadership and Human-Centered Design Thinking. This position reports to the CFO and is responsible for facilitating all key HR functions and programs and has strong communication skills, adaptability skills, is proactive and has a high level of confidentiality. CWI is a nonprofit corporation. DUTIES: Provide support in recruitment and staffing Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas Assist in the development of all orientation activities and processes Coordinate training sessions and seminars Assist in the orientation of all new hires Provide support in coaching and staff development Complaint Resolution Assist with disciplinary actions Review protocols before terminations Write and administer any reduction in force/layoffs Assist with performance management procedures Develop and maintain a presence in both the Work One offices and CWI Maintain personnel files Employee relations Work with EO Officer on maintaining EO and ADA requirements Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices Participate in exit interviews as requested Benefit management and coordination with staff and insurance agent Manage COBRA and FMLA processes Manage the Disaster and Safety Plans Ensure employee handbook is up-to-date with all legal requirements Any other duties as directed by supervisor 2 JOB COMPETENCIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Safety Works within all organizational and site precautions and procedures in the performance of all duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Continuing Education Maintains credentials as required by certifying/licensing body. Participates in professional development and in-service programs required by the position. 3 Community Involvement and Education May represent the organization through various avenues of phone contact, mailing and electronic mailing. Customer Service Works with all facets of customer service, both internal and external. Has knowledge and understanding of the agency’s internal and external customer needs and is committed to meeting or exceeding those expectations. Gathers and analyzes specific customer needs to continuously improve the human resource processes. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE: Academic Credentials Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business or a related field. 3.0 GPA or higher Coursework in business, human resource management, professional writing, psychology and industrial relations is desirable. SCP or CP certification or comparable certification Work Experience Requirements Three - Five years’ office experience in Human Resources.
