Human Resources Director
The Opportunity I am conducting a confidential search on behalf of a well-established and growing professional services firm in Orange County for an experienced Director of Human Resources . My client is looking for an accomplished HR leader who can serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership while leading a strong, responsive HR function. This is an opportunity for someone who combines deep HR knowledge with business judgment, executive presence, and a proactive, forward-thinking approach. The ideal candidate will be comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on problem solving, coaching leaders, navigating complex employee matters, and helping shape the people strategy as the organization continues to grow. What You'll Do Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, leadership, culture, and complex employee matters. Coach and advise leaders and managers on performance, employee development, conflict resolution, and leadership effectiveness. Support mergers and acquisitions, including HR due diligence, people-related risk assessment, employee communication, and post-acquisition integration. Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, leaves and accommodations, and other sensitive employment issues. Partner with leadership on workforce and succession planning, organizational structure, leadership development, retention, and change initiatives. Oversee core HR functions including recruiting, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, policies, HR systems, and professional development. Evaluate and strengthen HR programs, processes, and systems to support continued growth. Lead and develop the HR team and build strong relationships across the organization, ensuring HR is viewed as an accessible, credible, and trusted resource. What My Client Is Looking For 12+ years of progressive HR experience with significant leadership responsibility. HR leadership experience within a professional services firm, such as engineering, architecture, consulting, accounting, legal, financial services, or a similar environment. Strong experience advising and influencing executives and senior leaders. Deep knowledge of California employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop managers and leaders. A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate needs, operate independently, and make sound recommendations. Strong executive presence and excellent relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization. Experience supporting organizational growth, change, and evolving business needs. Mergers and acquisitions experience is highly desirable, particularly HR due diligence and post-acquisition integration. Multi-location and/or multi-state experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar senior-level certification preferred. Compensation & Benefits The anticipated base salary range is $150,000 – $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
