# HSE Officer **Desert Man Transporting & Contracting** · Abu Dhabi · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 5 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Job title: HSE Officer (Health, Safety & Environment) Company: Desertman Transporting and Contracting LLC Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE Job Type: Full-time Work Location: On-site Job Description Desertman Transporting and Contracting LLC is seeking a qualified and experienced HSE Officer to support our construction, infrastructure, earthworks, roadworks, pipeline, transportation, and heavy equipment operations in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental procedures across project sites, ensuring compliance with applicable UAE regulations, client requirements, and company HSE standards. We are looking for a proactive professional with strong site safety knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to promote a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, equipment operators, drivers, and other site personnel. Key Responsibilities - Implement and monitor the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures at project sites. - Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, and workplace risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. - Ensure compliance with applicable UAE HSE regulations, client safety requirements, and project-specific HSE plans. - Prepare, review, and monitor risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Method Statements. - Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and regular HSE awareness training for employees, subcontractors, drivers, and equipment operators. - Monitor safe working practices during excavation, earthworks, road construction, lifting operations, equipment movement, and transportation activities. - Inspect heavy machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions and ensure appropriate safety measures are followed. - Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with site safety requirements. - Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, and prepare reports with recommendations for corrective and preventive measures. - Maintain HSE documentation, inspection checklists, incident records, training registers, and other required safety reports. - Monitor environmental protection measures, including dust control, waste management, spill prevention, and proper material handling. - Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and client HSE representatives on safety-related matters. - Follow up on corrective actions and ensure identified hazards are addressed promptly. - Support emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation procedures, emergency response arrangements, and drills. - Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employees to report hazards and unsafe conditions. Requirements and Qualifications - Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in construction, civil engineering, roadworks, infrastructure, earthworks, or pipeline projects. - NEBOSH IGC or an equivalent recognized HSE qualification is preferred. - Relevant HSE training or certifications, such as IOSH, are an advantage. - Good knowledge of UAE health, safety, and environmental requirements and construction site safety practices. - Experience conducting risk assessments, site inspections, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and safety audits. - Familiarity with heavy equipment safety, excavation safety, lifting operations, traffic management, and construction site hazards. - Good written and verbal communication skills in English. - Ability to prepare HSE reports and maintain accurate safety documentation. - Strong observation, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work on-site and coordinate effectively with project teams and workers. - Candidates with relevant UAE construction project experience will be preferred.
