Engagement Type Contract Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment and Staffing Coordinate and facilitate orientation and hiring activities. Screen applications, schedule interviews, and conduct preliminary candidate assessments. Coordinate pre-employment orientation activities. Employee Relations Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns. Promote positive employee engagement and workplace culture. Benefits and Leave Administration Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes. Coordinate annual open enrollment activities. Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other applicable leave policies. Liaise with benefits providers and vendors. Performance Management and Training Support performance evaluation processes. Assist managers with employee development plans and coaching strategies. Coordinate employee training and professional development programs. Maintain training records and compliance requirements. HR Compliance and Policy Administration Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Assist with policy development, implementation, and communication. Maintain personnel files and HR records in accordance with legal requirements. Prepare reports and documentation related to HR activities and compliance audits. HRIS Support Maintain employee information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Generate workforce reports and employment metrics. Qualifications Education Bachelor//'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible human resources experience. Experience in recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance preferred. Public sector or municipal government experience preferred. Experience with ADP preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related requirements. Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and applicant tracking systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Preferred Certifications SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Working Conditions Primarily office-based environment. Occasional attendance at meetings, training sessions, recruitment events, and employee programs. May require extended periods of sitting and computer use.
