You would handle the day-to-day people operations and also manage contracts, corporate records, and coordination with our in house counsel. It is a broad role in a fast-moving environment. HR responsibilities Manage the full employee lifecycle: job postings, interview scheduling, offer letters, onboarding and offboarding Maintain personnel files, HR records and the HRIS Administer benefits, including enrollments, changes and open enrollment Handle leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, disability, workers' compensation) and keep documentation in order Coordinate payroll with finance and the payroll provider Keep the employee handbook, policies and required workplace postings current Support managers on employee relations matters and escalate where needed Track required compliance training, including California harassment prevention Complete I-9 verification and maintain immigration-related employment records Legal responsibilities Draft, review and track contracts from company templates: NDAs, vendor and service agreements, partner and referral agreements, contractor and employment agreements Maintain a contract database with renewal and expiration dates Keep corporate records in order across multiple entities: filings, business licenses, annual reports, registered agent details Support affiliation agreements, program letters of agreement and related documentation for our GME activities Assist with immigration matters for employees and program participants, working with immigration counsel Track trademark filings and renewals Manage insurance renewals and certificates of insurance Serve as the organized point of contact for outside counsel: gather documents, track open matters and monitor legal spend Maintain records retention and confidentiality practices Requirements 3 to 5 years of combined experience in HR and legal or paralegal support Bachelor's degree; paralegal certificate or HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus Working knowledge of California employment law Experience drafting and redlining contracts from templates Very strong organization and the ability to manage competing priorities across several entities Excellent judgment and absolute discretion with confidential information Comfortable working in a small company where the work varies day to day Nice to have Experience in healthcare, medical education or GME Familiarity with immigration processes (J-1, H-1B) Experience supporting more than one company or entity at once Pay: $50,288.86 - $60,584.43 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
