We are looking for an HR Executive – Retail who will work closely with Retail Operations and Store Managers to manage manpower planning, recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement and day-to-day HR matters. This is a hands-on, business-facing HR role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams and understands the people challenges of a retail/FMCG environment. Key Responsibilities HR Business Partnering Partner with Retail Operations, Area Managers and Store Managers on manpower and HR requirements. Provide practical HR support on recruitment, employee relations, attendance, performance and retention. Maintain regular engagement with store management and frontline employees to understand and resolve people-related issues. Support initiatives to improve employee engagement, accountability and performance. Track and report key HR metrics including headcount, vacancies, turnover and absenteeism. Conduct regular store visits and maintain close interaction with frontline teams. Recruitment & Manpower Planning Manage end-to-end recruitment for retail positions, including frontline staff, supervisors and store management. Work with business managers to forecast manpower requirements and maintain adequate staffing levels. Source candidates through job portals, referrals, agencies, walk-in interviews, career fairs and other channels. Screen candidates, conduct interviews and coordinate the selection process with hiring managers. Manage offers, pre-employment documentation and onboarding. Build talent pipelines for high-volume and recurring retail positions. Monitor recruitment turnaround time and identify alternative sourcing strategies where required. Employee Relations & Retention Handle employee queries, grievances and workplace concerns professionally and promptly. Support managers with attendance, performance, misconduct and disciplinary matters. Conduct exit interviews and analyse employee turnover trends. Work with operations teams on employee engagement and retention initiatives. Support employee welfare, recognition and engagement activities. Performance & Talent Management Support performance and salary review processes for retail employees. Work with managers to identify high-potential employees and development opportunities. Support performance improvement plans and other performance management processes. Identify training needs and coordinate relevant development initiatives. HR Operations & Compliance Prepare employment-related documentation including offers, confirmations, transfers and promotions. Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems. Coordinate with Payroll and other HR teams on employee movements, attendance, allowances and payroll-related matters. Ensure HR processes are aligned with company policies and applicable employment regulations. Support HR reporting, manpower budgeting and other HR projects. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline. 3–5 years of relevant HR experience , preferably within retail, FMCG, F&B, hospitality or another manpower-intensive industry . Strong hands-on experience in recruitment and HR business partnering. Experience handling frontline or high-volume recruitment will be an advantage. Good understanding of employee relations, performance management and general HR practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with employees and managers across different levels. Commercially minded, proactive and able to provide practical HR solutions. Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment. Willingness to conduct regular store visits and engage directly with frontline teams. Preferred Profile We are looking for a hands-on and commercially minded HR professional who understands the pace and operational demands of a retail FMCG business. The ideal candidate should be comfortable balancing recruitment, manpower planning, employee relations and HR business partnering , while working closely with store and operations teams.
