The Hotel Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel/resort, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery, guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and achievement of business targets. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the overall daily operations of the hotel/resort, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering/Maintenance, and other operational departments. Ensure that all departments consistently deliver high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety, and hospitality . Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies, procedures, and service standards . Monitor daily hotel operations, occupancy, room availability, guest concerns, VIP arrivals, special events, and other operational requirements. Lead, coach, and motivate department heads and employees to achieve departmental goals and performance standards . Conduct regular operational meetings and ensure proper communication and coordination among departments. Handle and resolve guest complaints, service recovery issues, and operational concerns in a professional and timely manner. Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, and satisfaction ratings and develop action plans to improve the overall guest experience. Ensure proper implementation of quality control and service standards throughout the property. Monitor manpower requirements, employee scheduling, attendance, productivity, and staffing levels in coordination with HR and department heads. Review departmental performance and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve productivity and operational efficiency. Monitor operating expenses and ensure that departments operate within their approved budgets and cost-control targets . Coordinate with Finance, Sales & Marketing, HR, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure smooth business operations. Ensure compliance with company policies, hotel standards, health and safety regulations, and applicable government requirements . Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, facilities, restaurants, and other operational areas to ensure proper standards are maintained. Identify operational problems and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurring issues. Assist in developing strategies to improve occupancy, revenue, guest satisfaction, service quality, and overall profitability . Oversee hotel readiness for events, group arrivals, VIP guests, high-occupancy periods, and special functions . Maintain strong relationships with guests, suppliers, business partners, and other stakeholders. Prepare and submit operational reports, performance updates, and recommendations to senior management. Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) when required and provide leadership during operational emergencies or critical situations. Ensure proper coordination and communication during emergency situations, including security, safety, medical, fire, and other incidents. Continuously evaluate operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, profitability, and guest experience . Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the General Manager or senior management . Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business Administration , or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in hotel/resort operations , with preferably 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory position . Strong knowledge of hotel operations, guest services, housekeeping, front office, and food & beverage operations . Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong ability to manage multiple departments and operational priorities. Customer-oriented with a strong commitment to service excellence . Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, manpower planning, and KPI management . Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when operationally required . Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure. Preferred: Experience in a resort, luxury hotel, or full-service property with strong exposure to multi-department operations.
