Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the management of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure the safety, efficiency, and optimal performance of our hotel’s infrastructure. Your leadership will drive maintenance repair procedures, manage facilities maintenance teams, and uphold safety regulations to create a seamless guest experience and a safe working environment. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, ensuring high standards of performance and safety compliance.
• Oversee the repair, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems such as HVAC, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), plumbing systems, and industrial equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to maximize equipment lifespan and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues by interpreting schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings; utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to OSHA safety regulations and industry best practices for facilities management.
• Manage projects related to facilities upgrades or repairs, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and repair procedures to support compliance audits.
• Conduct regular inspections of all mechanical and electrical systems to identify potential issues proactively.

Requirements

• Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance or engineering teams within a hospitality or commercial environment.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC system repair, electrical systems (including high voltage), plumbing system maintenance, and mechanical systems repair.
• Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices along with troubleshooting skills in engineering systems.
• Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, CMMS software, and maintenance repair procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and safety regulations specific to facilities management in hospitality settings.
• Experience managing projects related to facilities upgrades or repairs with excellent organizational skills in project management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
• Ability to interpret schematics, use testing tools such as ohmmeters, and perform electrical troubleshooting confidently.
• Excellent leadership qualities with supervisory experience in managing facilities maintenance teams effectively.
• Mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance & repair, electrical systems (including high voltage), low voltage systems, and overall facilities management.
