Conveniently located near major highways, corporate hubs, and coastal destinations, this hotel is positioned to serve a mix of business, project-based, and leisure travelers. This is a unique opportunity to join the pre-opening team , help build the hotel’s foundation, and play an important role in establishing a strong team, culture, and market presence from day one. Position Summary The Assistant General Manager will serve as a key member of the hotel leadership team, working closely with the General Manager to support all aspects of the hotel’s pre-opening, opening, and ongoing operations. During the pre-opening phase, this role will assist with recruiting and onboarding the hotel team, developing operational processes, preparing systems and supplies, coordinating training, and ensuring the property is operationally ready for opening. Following opening, the Assistant General Manager will help lead day-to-day hotel operations, support department leaders and associates, maintain brand standards, and ensure an exceptional guest experience while helping drive operational and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who enjoys building teams, solving problems, creating structure, and being part of something from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Pre-Opening & Opening Support Partner with the General Manager to execute the hotel’s pre-opening critical path and opening plan Assist with coordinating pre-opening activities across all departments Support brand readiness efforts and ensure Hilton standards are incorporated into daily operations Participate in property inspections, readiness assessments, mock service, and opening preparation Assist with the transition from construction to operational readiness Support the final countdown to opening and soft-opening activities Recruitment & Team Development Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding hotel associates Help build a positive, service-focused culture aligned with AAM15 values and Hilton brand standards Support the development and execution of training and onboarding programs Establish clear expectations for guest service, attendance, performance, and professionalism Coach and develop associates and department leaders to support a high-performing team Lead by example and maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel Daily Operations Support the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations Assist department leaders with staffing, scheduling, service standards, and operational challenges Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to guest concerns Conduct regular property walks and ensure the hotel is clean, safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready Ensure compliance with brand standards, company policies, and applicable regulations Assist with maintaining operational SOPs and procedures Step in and provide leadership coverage across departments as needed Serve as a manager on duty and provide leadership support during assigned shifts Guest Experience Create a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest Monitor guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve service Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently Encourage a culture of hospitality where associates take ownership of the guest experience Maintain a strong focus on cleanliness, service, and overall property presentation Financial & Administrative Suppor t Assist the General Manager with budget management and expense control Monitor labor and operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency Support purchasing, inventory management, and supply controls Review operational reports and assist with identifying trends and areas for improvement Ensure required administrative processes and documentation are completed accurately and timely Assist with payroll, timekeeping, scheduling, and other hotel administrative functions Sales & Revenue Support Work collaboratively with the Sales team to support hotel revenue goals Assist with local sales efforts and community relationship building Promote the hotel and its services to guests and local businesses Understand occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and other key hotel performance indicators Support revenue and occupancy strategies established by the General Manager and commercial team Leadership & Culture Serve as a trusted partner to the General Manager and hotel leadership team Promote AAM15’s commitment to Address performance and operational issues promptly and professionally Foster teamwork, communication, and collaboration across all departments Qualifications Previous hotel management or supervisory experience required Assistant General Manager, Front Office Manager, Operations Manager, or comparable hotel leadership experience preferred Pre-opening hotel experience strongly preferred Experience with Hilton, Marriott, IHG, or another major hotel brand preferred Strong understanding of front office and overall hotel operations Experience recruiting, training, coaching, and developing employees Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong guest service and communication skills Working knowledge of hotel financials, labor management, and operational controls Proficiency with hotel operating systems and Microsoft Office Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required Must be a hands-on leader who is willing to work alongside the team when needed What Success Looks Like The hotel is fully prepared to open with a trained, engaged, and service-focused team
