Leighton Drive rents out Leighton vans: high-end, customised vans with a look, specification and finish you won’t find on a standard rental fleet. It’s a product that is unique in the van rental market, and it attracts customers who want something better than the usual white van. The business is established and performing. It has a fleet of around 250 vehicles, a small, capable team and customers already on hire. The next step is to take it from a great product to a rental operation that scales: sharper systems, tighter processes and a team built to perform as the fleet grows. That’s the job. Why This Role Is Different ● A product worth selling. You won’t be competing on price with a standard white-van fleet. You’ll be leading a premium, customised product that customers can’t get anywhere else.● A working business to build on. Around 250 vehicles, a team and customers already in place, and plenty of room to improve how it all runs.● Real influence. You’ll sit on the senior leadership team, where decisions are made quickly and put into practice.● Room to grow. You’ll lead the current team and expand it as the fleet scales. What You’ll Own ● Direction: shape the rental strategy with the Owner and leadership team, and turn it into targets your team can hit● Operations: review existing systems, processes and models, find the gaps, and strengthen the operational structure so the fleet can scale● Your team: lead, coach and develop the rental team, setting work patterns, priorities and targets that drive growth and service● Customers: partner with Marketing to take the Leighton product to more customers and build a strong, repeatable pipeline, and make sure every customer gets service that matches a premium product● Fleet: work with the Owner and Sales Director on vehicle procurement to get the right spec on the best terms, and own the return process, from accurate damage capture to fast turnaround between de-fleet and resale● Cash: work with the CFO on credit control to keep bad debt to a minimum● Performance: report weekly and monthly to the leadership team on the numbers, what they mean and what you’re doing about them● Standards: keep rental agreements, invoicing and customer data accurate, and the department fully compliant on regulatory, legal and Health & Safety requirements Who You Are You’ve run a hire, rental or leasing operation, ideally in automotive.
