Head of Storytelling (Videographer)
# Head of Storytelling (Videographer) **Limitless** · Costa Mesa, CA 92626 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 11 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Hey there, I'm Johnathan! :) I'm looking for a creative and witty videographer to help me tell every story Limitless will ever tell. Full time, right alongside me. Quick background: I founded KlientBoost, a performance marketing agency. We won the #1 Glassdoor Award for Best Place to Work in 2022, and we're still the only marketing agency that has ever won it. I'm proud of the work, but I'm prouder of how people feel working there. That's the bar I'm bringing to this. Now I'm building something new. Limitless (website coming soon: limitle.ss) is the first humanitarian running apparel brand. A big chunk of our profits goes to humanitarian causes. Not a token percentage on a footer. A handsome amount, on purpose, from day one. Why Limitless isn't just another running brand... Most running brands sell you speed, abs, and a podium you'll never stand on. We're going a different way: - We tell comeback stories. We highlight athletes who've been knocked flat by serious setbacks and found their way back. People in Gaza, Ukraine, etc. People with addiction, Injuries, illness, loss, starting over. Those are the stories that make people lace up. Those are the people other people wanna support. - We give a lot away. A big share of our proceeds goes to humanitarian causes. But we'll be incredibly transparent in the lives we help change (check out this clip where we partnered with Our Own: https://youtu.be/Fw99eGvjEWM?si=zjrmPGcJMfS_8QcG&t=143 - that's the kinda stuff that gets me excited) - We have a unique brand identity. + We have a mascot. A vintage, rubber hose style cartoon character. Think 1930s animation energy on modern running gear. You'll help bring that character to life working with animators and other creatives. - We don't take ourselves too seriously. Running is hard and a little ridiculous. Our content should be funny, warm, and human. If it makes you laugh and then quietly gets you in the feels, we nailed it. What you'll own: You're not a hired camera. You're the creative lead for everything we put on screen, and you'll shape the look, voice, and pacing of the brand with me. Here's the slate: 1. Social content (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and wherever runners hang out next) You'll direct, shoot, and cut our short form and long form social content. Athlete comeback stories, product drops, behind the scenes, mascot bits, and the occasional dumb idea that turns out to be brilliant. 2. "Building Limitless" vlog An honest, ongoing series about building a brand from zero. The wins, the samples that come back wrong, the Shopify launch, the late night pivots. You'll find the story in the chaos. 3. "The Limitless Boys" documentary Five pretty average guys in their late 30s and early 40s training for, and attempting, the UTMB 170 km championship in Chamonix, France in 2028. I'm one of them, here in Southern California. The other four are in Denmark. You'll be the director and main creative decision maker for this film, follow my training up close, and work with a videographer in Denmark who'll report to you. This one is a multi-year story, and it ends on one of the hardest mountain races on the planet (climbing the height of Mount Everest too). 4. Calorie Casanova and Project 9.9 A sub-brand where I share my journey to 9.9% body fat, plus data-backed tips and tricks. Think real calorie burn comparisons (treadmill vs incline walk vs stairmaster, tested with actual metabolic gear), clear takeaways, and a bit of humor. Your job is to make data feel fun to watch. Across all of it, you'll also: - Handle graphic design for thumbnails, titles, lower thirds, and on-screen graphics that match our vintage cartoon look - Build simple systems so we can publish consistently - Watch the numbers with me (views, retention, saves, shares) and use them to make the next piece better Who I'm hoping you are Skills you'll need: - Videography. You can shoot run and gun on a trail (not that you need to run) and also set up a clean, cinematic interviews. Bonus if you're comfortable filming while moving (bikes, running, gimbals, drones). - Editing. You know how to find the story in hours of footage, and you can cut both a 30 second Reel and a long form doc without losing the plot. - Graphic design. You can make thumbnails, title cards, and some motion graphics that feel like they belong to the same brand. And as a person, you probably: - Have a portfolio that makes people feel something, and at least one piece that made someone laugh out loud - Love a good underdog story - Are hungry and up and coming. I care way more about your eye and your drive than a long list of big name credits - Can take a rough idea from me and come back with something better than what I pictured - Are okay with travel, some early mornings (Rare. Trust me, I love sleep), and occasionally filming in the cold on a mountain - Bonus points if you run, or are at least curious why anyone would run 170 km How to apply Send me your portfolio or reel, plus a short note on the one piece you're most proud of and why. If you want to stand out, pitch me a 3 sentence idea for a Limitless video. Weird is welcome. I read every one. Let's make something people actually want to watch, and do some good while we're at it. Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Benefits: - Flexible schedule - Paid time off - Professional development assistance Work Location: In person
