Head Start Floater

Job Summary

As a Head Start Floater, you’ll step into classrooms as needed to support young children’s learning, safety, and development. You’ll partner with teachers to create welcoming, well-managed environments and adapt your approach to children’s individual needs, including students with disabilities. Your impact: Consistent classroom support helps children feel safe and ready to participate while enabling teachers to focus on learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide child supervision and childcare across classrooms, following established routines and safety procedures.
• Support teaching activities in early childhood education, including literacy education, math, and tutoring or mentoring as appropriate.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior management; use positive, age-appropriate strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and communicate respectfully with parents about children’s classroom experiences, as directed.

Pay: $10.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
