Head of School - Private K–8 School

Job Overview

The Estates School is a new, independent private school in Palm Beach Gardens serving students in kindergarten through 8th grade, with an enrollment of about 150 students. We are looking for an experienced educational leader to guide the school, shape its culture and academic program, and build a strong reputation in the community. You will lead faculty and staff, set the academic vision, and serve as the public face of the school to families and the community.

Duties

• Provide day-to-day leadership of a K–8 school and lead a team of teachers and staff
• Oversee curriculum, instruction, and student assessment, and drive continuous improvement
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate faculty and staff
• Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and students
• Lead enrollment, admissions, and retention efforts, including tours and family conferences
• Ensure compliance with Florida requirements for private schools, as well as health, safety, and emergency procedures
• Manage the school’s operating budget, scheduling, and facility needs with ownership
• Foster a safe, positive, and welcoming school culture
• Represent the school at community events and with local organizations

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree strongly preferred
• Required: Senior leadership, management, team leadership, education administration, personnel management, school staff supervision, and faculty evaluation experience.
• Required: K–8 school experience, classroom or teaching experience, and experience working with students; school administrative director experience is valuable, ideally in a private or independent school.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, strategic planning, budgeting—including executive education budget management—and fundraising.
• Understanding of educational compliance and regulation, school legal matters, and special education law.
• Preferred: Professional development facilitation in schools, early childhood education, childhood development, public speaking, and classroom experience.
• Ability to pass a Level 2 background check, including fingerprinting, as required in Florida

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
