# Head of Product & Growth – B2B SaaS **Engage** · Hook RG29 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 5 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role About the Opportunity We are seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial Head of Product & Growth to lead the commercialisation of an established software platform and develop it into a successful, revenue-generating SaaS business. The platform has been developed internally, is already actively used within our organisation and continues to evolve through our in-house software development and design teams. With the core technology and technical resources already in place, we are now entering the next phase: transforming the platform into a commercially successful SaaS product, acquiring external customers and building sustainable recurring revenue. This is an opportunity to take ownership of both the product and its commercial growth, working directly with the founder to build a new software business. We are looking for someone who combines strong product management experience with commercial drive, customer acquisition expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset. Your success will be measured not simply by the features delivered, but by the customers acquired, recurring revenue generated and long-term adoption of the platform. The Role As Head of Product & Growth, you will take end-to-end ownership of the product’s commercial development. You will be responsible for defining the product strategy, establishing its market positioning, leading its commercial launch and building a growing base of paying customers. Working alongside our existing developers and designers, you will ensure the platform evolves in response to market demand while maintaining a clear focus on commercial performance. This is a hands-on role requiring someone comfortable moving between product strategy, customer conversations, sales, marketing and product delivery. Initially, you will be expected to personally drive customer acquisition, validate the commercial proposition and establish repeatable processes for growth. As the business develops, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated commercial and product team. Key Responsibilities Commercial Strategy & Growth - Develop and execute the commercialisation strategy for an established software platform. - Identify and define target customer segments, market opportunities and ideal customer profiles. - Establish the product’s value proposition, competitive positioning and go-to-market strategy. - Develop subscription pricing, packaging and commercial models. - Take ownership of customer acquisition, conversion and recurring revenue growth. - Establish and manage the sales pipeline, from initial prospecting through to customer conversion. - Identify and develop appropriate acquisition channels, including direct outreach, partnerships, digital marketing and referrals. - Personally engage with prospective customers, conduct product demonstrations and convert opportunities into paying subscriptions. - Develop repeatable sales and onboarding processes that support scalable growth. - Establish commercial KPIs, including monthly recurring revenue (MRR), annual recurring revenue (ARR), customer acquisition cost, conversion rates and churn. - Continuously refine the commercial strategy based on customer feedback, market demand and performance data. Product Strategy & Ownership - Own the product vision, strategy and development roadmap. - Develop a comprehensive understanding of the existing platform and its capabilities. - Identify the features and improvements required to support commercial adoption. - Prioritise development based on customer needs, market opportunities and commercial impact. - Translate customer feedback and business requirements into clear product specifications. - Balance new feature development with usability, reliability, scalability and technical improvements. - Ensure the platform evolves into a flexible, commercially viable SaaS product capable of supporting multiple organisations. Product Development & Delivery - Work closely with internal developers and designers to coordinate product development. - Own and maintain the product backlog and development priorities. - Produce product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. - Lead product planning, backlog refinement and release prioritisation. - Oversee product testing and ensure new functionality meets agreed requirements. - Establish consistent processes for product documentation, release management and continuous improvement. - Ensure development activity remains aligned with customer demand and commercial objectives. Customer Acquisition & Success - Identify, approach and engage prospective customers. - Conduct discovery meetings, product demonstrations and commercial discussions. - Manage early customer relationships and oversee onboarding. - Develop a clear understanding of customer challenges, operational requirements and purchasing decisions. - Establish processes for gathering customer feedback and measuring product satisfaction. - Identify barriers to adoption and work with the technical team to address them. - Develop customer retention and engagement strategies. - Identify opportunities for account expansion, additional subscriptions and upselling. - Build strong customer relationships that support referrals and long-term recurring revenue. Marketing & Market Positioning - Develop the product’s brand positioning and core commercial messaging. - Coordinate the creation of product marketing materials, website content, demonstrations and sales collateral. - Identify effective marketing channels and campaigns. - Develop case studies, customer testimonials and other supporting materials. - Monitor competitors and identify opportunities for differentiation. - Work with internal or external marketing resources to generate qualified leads. - Measure marketing effectiveness and optimise customer acquisition activities. Business Performance & Reporting - Establish clear commercial targets and performance metrics. - Maintain visibility of sales pipeline, customer acquisition and recurring revenue. - Develop forecasts for subscription revenue and customer growth. - Monitor customer acquisition costs and retention performance. - Provide regular updates to the founder on commercial progress, product development and growth opportunities. - Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency as the business scales. About You We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual who has experience developing and commercialising software products. You should understand how SaaS businesses operate, how software products are brought to market and how to turn customer demand into sustainable recurring revenue. You will be comfortable taking ownership of commercial outcomes while working closely with technical teams to shape the product. This is not a role for someone who wants to focus exclusively on product management or delegate all commercial activity to a sales team. We need someone who is willing to get directly involved in acquiring the first customers, validating the proposition and building the foundations for long-term growth. Essential Experience - Minimum 5 years’ experience in SaaS product management, commercialisation, growth or a closely related role. - Demonstrable experience launching, commercialising or growing a B2B software product. - Proven ability to acquire customers and generate recurring subscription revenue. - Strong understanding of SaaS business models, subscription pricing and commercial metrics. - Experience developing go-to-market strategies and customer acquisition processes. - Ability to conduct customer discovery, product demonstrations and commercial negotiations. - Experience working directly with software developers and UX/UI designers. - Strong understanding of product roadmaps, feature prioritisation and Agile development. - Commercially analytical, with the ability to make decisions based on customer and revenue data. - Excellent communication, relationship-building and presentation skills. - Comfortable operating independently in an entrepreneurial environment. Desirable Experience - Experience taking a SaaS product from pre-revenue to meaningful recurring revenue. - Experience scaling a B2B SaaS product to £250k+ ARR. - Experience working within an early-stage technology business. - Experience building or managing sales pipelines and customer acquisition channels. - Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS platforms and subscription management. - Experience with product-led growth, self-service onboarding or digital customer acquisition. - Experience establishing commercial processes and reporting from scratch. - Experience recruiting or managing commercial and product teams. What Success Looks Like First 3 Months - Develop a comprehensive understanding of the existing platform. - Assess its commercial readiness and identify priority improvements. - Define the target customer profile and market positioning. - Establish initial pricing and subscription packages. - Develop a clear product and commercial roadmap. - Begin engaging prospective customers and validating market demand. - Establish an initial pipeline of qualified opportunities. First 6 Months - Launch an initial commercial version of the platform. - Secure the first paying external customers. - Establish a repeatable customer onboarding process. - Deliver product improvements informed by real customer feedback. - Develop and test customer acquisition channels. - Establish reporting for recurring revenue, customer acquisition and retention. First 12 Months - Build a growing base of paying customers. - Demonstrate consistent month-on-month recurring revenue growth. - Establish repeatable customer acquisition and conversion processes. - Develop a commercially driven product roadmap. - Demonstrate strong customer adoption and retention. - Establish the foundations for scaling the business beyond its initial customer base. What We Offer An established product: Work with a functioning software platform rather than starting from an idea. Existing technical resources: Access to in-house developers and designers, allowing you to focus on product direction and commercial growth. Significant autonomy: Take ownership of the product’s strategy, commercialisation and growth. Direct founder engagement: Work closely with the founder and play a central role in developing a new SaaS business. Entrepreneurial opportunity: The chance to build a commercially successful software business with the support of an established organisation. Performance-related remuneration: A competitive base salary with additional earning potential linked to commercial success. Long-term career development: The opportunity to develop into a broader leadership role as the business grows. The Ideal Candidate You are a commercially driven product leader who enjoys building businesses as much as building software. You understand that a successful SaaS product is not defined solely by its functionality, but by its ability to attract customers, solve meaningful problems and generate sustainable recurring revenue. You are equally comfortable discussing product requirements with developers, presenting software to prospective customers, developing commercial strategies and analysing subscription revenue. You thrive in entrepreneurial environments, take ownership of outcomes and enjoy the challenge of turning an existing product into a growing business. If you have the ambition and experience to take an established software platform to market and build a successful recurring-revenue business around it, we’d love to hear from you.
