Head of Marketing
Head of Marketing & Omnichannel Growth
Reporting To: Managing Director Location / Working Model: Hybrid Holidays: 22 days' paid annual leave + bank holidays Experience Required: 5+ years in a senior marketing, e-commerce, marketplace growth or omnichannel leadership role, ideally within a consumer products business selling physical goods.
Who Are We?
We are an established e-commerce and consumer products business with a diverse portfolio of brands across the fashion, home, lifestyle and outdoor categories.
Our products reach customers through multiple channels, including Amazon, our own direct-to-consumer websites and established retail partners such as Next, Argos and Debenhams. With a strong foundation in online sales and significant potential to expand our reach, we are entering an exciting phase of growth.
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Head of Marketing & Omnichannel Growth to lead the next stage of our development.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who can combine strategic vision, commercial thinking and team leadership to build a marketing function capable of supporting our long-term ambitions.
You will take ownership of our marketing strategy across the portfolio, strengthen Amazon as a core sales channel, expand into additional online marketplaces, grow our direct-to-consumer websites and help develop new distribution opportunities with major retailers and B2B partners.
A central part of the role will be to build the marketing team from the ground up. You will define the structure, identify the capabilities we need, recruit talented people and establish the processes, reporting and culture required to deliver sustainable growth.
Initially, you will need to be comfortable getting hands-on and establishing the foundations yourself. As the function develops, your focus will increasingly shift towards leadership, team performance, strategic planning and identifying new commercial opportunities.
Working directly with the Managing Director and wider commercial team, you will have genuine ownership of how marketing evolves and contributes to the growth of the business.
What You Will Be Doing
Marketing Leadership, Strategy & Team Building
Building a high-performing marketing function will be one of your most important responsibilities. We are looking for someone who can create the right team, develop its capabilities and establish a structure that can scale alongside the business.
- Define and own the overall marketing strategy and annual marketing plan across all brands, products and sales channels.
- Develop a clear growth roadmap covering customer acquisition, brand development, marketplace performance, direct-to-consumer growth and retail distribution.
- Build the marketing department from the ground up, defining the team structure, roles, responsibilities and specialist capabilities required to support our ambitions.
- Assess existing resources, identify skills gaps and prioritise recruitment based on the greatest commercial opportunities.
- Recruit, onboard, coach and develop a high-performing team across relevant disciplines, potentially including performance marketing, marketplace marketing, content, CRM, SEO and brand marketing.
- Establish clear reporting lines, individual responsibilities, performance objectives and measurable KPIs for every team member.
- Develop a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement and data-led decision-making.
- Create scalable processes, campaign planning frameworks and reporting systems that allow the team to operate efficiently as the business grows.
- Determine which activities should be managed internally and which are best delivered through agencies, freelancers or specialist partners.
- Lead, motivate and develop the team, ensuring individuals have the skills, tools and direction required to perform at their best.
- Retain oversight of key strategic initiatives while progressively delegating day-to-day execution to the appropriate team members.
- Own the overall marketing budget, allocating resources to the channels and activities with the greatest potential return.
- Work closely with the Managing Director, e-commerce, Amazon, product and commercial teams to align marketing with wider business objectives.
- Report regularly on marketing performance, team progress, budget allocation and growth opportunities.
The objective: create a capable, accountable and commercially focused marketing department that can deliver results across multiple brands and channels without relying on the Head of Marketing to execute every activity personally.

- Build creator and influencer partnerships that increase brand awareness, drive sales and generate reusable content.
- Develop affiliate programmes and performance-based partnerships where commercially appropriate.
- Oversee outreach, briefs, negotiations, budgets, approvals and campaign performance.
- Explore social commerce opportunities, including TikTok Shop where suitable.
- Use performance data to improve content, partnerships and channel investment.
Brand Development, PR & Partnerships
- Strengthen brand positioning, messaging and visual consistency across our portfolio.
- Develop clear brand propositions that differentiate our products in competitive categories.
- Identify opportunities for press coverage, product reviews, editorial features and brand partnerships.
- Coordinate product launches, seasonal campaigns and promotional activity.
- Work with product teams to communicate features, benefits and points of difference effectively.
