Head of Joinery Drafting & Detailing

We are looking for an experienced Head of Joinery Drafting & Detailing to lead our drafting and detailing team and oversee the preparation of accurate, practical, and production-ready drawings for custom joinery and furniture projects.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of joinery construction, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with design, project management, production, procurement, and site installation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the joinery drafting and detailing team.
• Allocate projects and drawing tasks to draftsmen and detailers based on workload and priorities.
• Review and approve shop drawings, production drawings, and detailed joinery drawings.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, clear, practical, and suitable for manufacturing and installation.
• Develop and review plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction drawings.
• Oversee detailing of wardrobes, kitchens, cabinets, wall panels, doors, counters, feature walls, and custom furniture.
• Review architectural, interior design, and consultant drawings before commencing detailing.
• Identify design, technical, and constructability issues and coordinate solutions.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Designers, Production, Procurement, and Site Teams.
• Ensure drawings reflect approved materials, finishes, hardware, fittings, and construction methods.
• Conduct technical reviews and maintain drawing quality standards across projects.
• Coordinate revisions based on client comments, site conditions, design changes, and production requirements.
• Ensure proper drawing numbering, revision control, and documentation.
• Provide technical clarification to production and installation teams.
• Support project teams in resolving technical and site-related joinery issues.
• Monitor drawing schedules and ensure deliverables are completed within project deadlines.
• Develop and maintain standard detailing practices and drawing procedures.
• Train, guide, and support junior draftsmen and detailers.

Requirements

• Proven experience in joinery drafting and detailing , with experience in a senior or leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of custom furniture and joinery manufacturing.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD 2D .
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, interior design, and technical drawings.
• In-depth understanding of joinery construction methods, materials, hardware, fittings, and installation requirements.
• Ability to prepare and review detailed production and shop drawings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and installation processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy.
• Strong team leadership and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and drawing deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• UAE joinery or interior fit-out experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading a drafting/detailing department in a joinery or furniture manufacturing company.
• Experience with high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, or bespoke projects.
• Working knowledge of Bazis is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of SketchUp or other relevant design/detailing software is an advantage.
• Experience coordinating directly with production and site installation teams.
