# HEAD OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING **Gulf Consulting Group** · Doha · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 7 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Electrical Engineering to lead and manage the electrical engineering department and oversee electrical design, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities across projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards, and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the electrical engineering team, providing technical guidance and supervision. - Oversee electrical engineering, design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities. - Review and approve electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents. - Coordinate electrical designs and works with architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and other disciplines. - Review electrical load calculations, single-line diagrams, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, lighting layouts, and equipment selections. - Supervise LV/MV electrical systems, power distribution, transformers, generators, switchgear, MCCs, DBs, UPS systems, and associated equipment. - Ensure electrical works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes, standards, and local authority requirements. - Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities. - Attend technical and coordination meetings and provide solutions to design and site-related issues. - Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, site instructions, inspection requests, and design changes. - Monitor project progress, manpower requirements, material procurement, and electrical work schedules. - Ensure electrical materials and equipment meet approved specifications and quality requirements. - Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover of electrical systems. - Identify design clashes and technical discrepancies and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. - Monitor electrical project costs and assist with budgeting and resource planning. - Ensure compliance with company QA/QC procedures and health and safety requirements. - Prepare and review technical reports, progress reports, and other project documentation. - Mentor and develop electrical engineers, supervisors, and technical staff. - Maintain effective communication between the electrical department and project management team. - Support management in technical proposals, tenders, project planning, and engineering-related business activities. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. - 12+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably within construction, MEP, infrastructure, or engineering projects. - Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a senior/leadership position . - Strong experience in managing electrical engineering teams and major projects. - Qatar experience with UPDA A - Strong knowledge of electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning. - Good knowledge of relevant international standards and local authority requirements. - Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, clients, and government authorities. - Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and familiarity with BIM/Revit/Navisworks is an advantage. - Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. - Strong command of written and spoken English.
