Head of Deployments
Overview You'll be responsible for moving our active project pipeline from signed contract to completed deployment as fast and reliably as possible. That means 1) building a function and 2) full project execution across permitting, engineering, installation, and commissioning. This is an inherently proactive role. You will embed in the details, originate new solutions, and improve our deployment process every week as Powertown moves from its first projects toward hundreds of installations across multiple states. The role includes the opportunity to become a long-term leader at Powertown, leading the deployment of many energy products across a number of states. Key responsibilities Drive every active project to completion, tracking status, risks, and blockers closely enough that you can say in five minutes where each one stands and what's next Own the relationships with our engineering and contracting partners, holding them to reliable results and timelines on Powerblock installations Flag and resolve delays before they compound, working across permitting, interconnection, installation, and commissioning Collaborate with the software team where automation would meaningfully speed up or de-risk the work Work with the Head of Financial Product to keep project economics accurate as installations move through execution Must-have qualifications 5–10 years of field operations experience deploying products into the built environment, or experience developing energy projects across solar, storage, EV charging, microgrids, generators, or heat pumps Ability to construct a formidable project management system to manage hundreds of deployments a year. Ideally, experience using or building a platform like this in the past Past experience working with contractors, engineers, and customers to deliver turnkey infrastructure outcomes A bias toward getting into the nitty-gritty and solving problems before they become delays Nice-to-have qualifications Experience with the anatomy of commercial and industrial buildings and their electrical systems Experience pulling planning, building, utility, or electrical permits Working across a range of real-world infrastructure or energy assets
