Head Chef

Babblers is a busy all-day café serving breakfast, brunch and casual dining from early morning to late evening. We’re relaunching with a new 2026/27 menu, and we’re looking for a hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take it to the next level. The role You’ll run the kitchen day to day, leading a team of chefs and a sculler and working closely with the café manager and the barista team. You’ll own food quality, consistency, cost control and kitchen standards, from the first breakfast order to the closing clean. What you’ll do Lead, train and schedule the kitchen team; set the standard on every plate Deliver the menu consistently using our recipe book and plating specs Develop weekly specials and contribute to menu development Manage food cost: recipe costing, portion control, ordering, stock counts and waste tracking Build relationships with suppliers and check deliveries for quality and price Keep the kitchen fully compliant with Dubai Municipality food safety and HACCP standards Keep prep, mise en place and stock rotation tight so service runs smoothly at peak times What we’re looking for At least [3+] years as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume café, brunch or casual dining kitchen in the UAE Strong breakfast and brunch background Proven experience with food costing, inventory and hitting food cost targets A calm, organised leader who trains people and holds standards Valid food safety certification (PIC or HACCP preferred) Comfortable with early starts, weekends and peak-season shifts Good spoken and written English Nice to have Experience opening or relaunching a menu
