Haute Couture production manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Haute Couture Production Manager to run the atelier's production from approved design to delivered dress. You will plan and oversee many couture pieces in progress at once, lead the atelier team, and make sure every dress meets house standards and is ready on the client's date.

You are the link between the designer, the fashion consultants and the atelier floor, turning designs and client commitments into a clear, workable production plan.

Key Responsibilities

Production planning

• Build and manage the atelier production schedule for all orders: private clients, bridal, collections and events.
• Break each dress into stages (toile, cutting, structure, embroidery, assembly, finishing, fittings) and set deadlines for each.
• Plan workload and capacity across the team so peak seasons are covered without missed dates.
• Track the status of every dress daily and report progress to management.

Atelier team leadership

• Lead and supervise tailors, pattern makers, embroiderers, beaders and finishing artisans.
• Assign work based on each artisan's skills and the priority of each piece.
• Hire, train and evaluate atelier staff; build a skilled and motivated team.
• Keep the workshop organised, safe and efficient.

Quality control

• Set and enforce couture standards for cutting, hand stitching, embroidery, corsetry, finishing and pressing.
• Inspect work at each stage and before every fitting and delivery.
• Resolve quality issues quickly and make sure nothing leaves the atelier below house standard.

Materials and suppliers

• Plan and order fabrics, laces, beads, crystals and trims in time for production.
• Manage relationships with fabric houses, embroidery workshops and outside suppliers.
• Control stock levels and keep accurate inventory records.

Cost control

• Estimate materials and labour hours for each dress and help set pricing.
• Keep production within budget and track actual cost against estimates.
• Find ways to reduce waste and improve efficiency without lowering quality.

Coordination with design and clients

• Work closely with the designer to turn designs into executable production plans.
• Coordinate fitting dates with the fashion consultants and make sure dresses are ready on time.
• Make sure client alteration notes reach the atelier accurately and are completed.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in haute couture or luxury garment production, including 3+ years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing a large number of couture pieces in production at the same time.
• Expert knowledge of couture construction, draping, corsetry, embroidery and hand-finishing techniques.
• Strong understanding of luxury fabrics and how they behave in production.
• Experience leading a team of tailors and artisans.
• Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
• Experience with production costing, material planning and supplier management.
• Good computer skills: Excel or Google Sheets and production-tracking tools.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Garment Technology or Production Management.
• Experience in bridal couture and heavily embellished evening wear.
• Experience in the GCC luxury market.
• Hands-on skills in pattern making or tailoring, to guide the team by example.
• Calm, decisive leadership when many deadlines peak together.
• Sharp eye for detail and an uncompromising standard of finish.
