Hardware Development Engineer II, Development Integration and Test
# Hardware Development Engineer II, Development Integration and Test **Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC** · Redmond, Washington, USA · `On-site` · `full-time` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Amazon* --- ### Top Skills & Match 🎯 **Ключевой стек роли:** `[Hardware Development]` `[Hardware Development]` --- ### About the Role Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Amazon is building a satellite constellation to deliver broadband connectivity around the world, and our test engineering team is the gate to flight readiness. We are looking for a Hardware Development Engineer II to design and implement test infrastructure for satellite flight hardware, ensuring every component that reaches orbit is proven, reliable, and ready to perform. In this role, you will develop test systems for mechanical satellite assemblies, working across multiple technology areas to validate designs from early prototypes through production. You will apply your expertise in materials, manufacturing methods, and system integration to build test solutions that catch problems early and confirm hardware meets demanding performance and safety requirements. As we grow to support future generations of satellites, this is a compelling time to join a team where your work directly determines whether hardware is ready to fly. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key job responsibilities - Design and develop test infrastructure for satellite flight hardware, producing clear design schematics, specifications, trade studies, and test plans that validate mechanical systems against functional, reliability, and cost targets. - Build and validate prototypes of test fixtures and equipment, selecting appropriate manufacturing processes and making informed make-versus-buy decisions to meet program schedules. - Perform system-level analysis including thermal, dynamic, and electrical evaluations to confirm test setups accurately represent flight conditions and meet regulatory and safety requirements. - Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams during design reviews, planning discussions, and retrospectives to resolve integration challenges, improve test coverage, and share technical knowledge. - Develop scripts, firmware, or software tools that automate test workflows, and help train teammates on test system implementation and operation. A day in the life You will start your morning reviewing test data from a recent satellite hardware validation run, then join a design review where you present trade-off analyses on a new test fixture to your teammates. After lunch, you might work with a supplier to refine tooling for an upcoming build, or head to the lab to troubleshoot a sensor configuration on a vibration test stand. You will document your findings, propose improvements, and mentor newer engineers along the way. About the team Our team designs and operates the test infrastructure that determines whether satellite hardware is ready for flight. We are growing to support future generations of satellites, which means new test challenges and new technology areas to explore. Engineers across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines work side by side here, and we value clear communication, technical rigor, and a willingness to learn from every test campaign. If you want your work to directly shape what makes it to orbit, this is the team to join. - 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience - Experience with prototyping and implementation - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
