Role Purpose As a Gym Floor Supervisor, you lead the day-to-day delivery of the gym floor and fitness products, ensuring standards of safety, quality, and consistency are maintained. You support the Product Experience Manager by guiding the fitness team, keeping the gym floor running smoothly, and creating conditions for great coaching and confident member use. This is a hands-on role, with most of your time spent on the gym floor, leading from the front, supporting Fitness Coaches and Employed Personal Trainers, and stepping in during moments that matter. You will also act as a Senior Manager on Duty and operate as the deputy to the Product Experience Manager when required. Key Responsibilities 1. Gym Floor Experience & Member Engagement Take ownership of how the gym floor operates day to day, ensuring it is safe, organised, and ready for use. Lead the delivery of consistent, brand quality fitness products and gym floor activity. Maintain the right balance of visibility and discretion, ensuring members feel confident to train independently while knowing support is available. Deliver and oversee fitness sessions, programmes, and key touchpoints that encourage repeat usage and long-term commitment. Carry out Discovery and Blueprint sessions, helping members feel clear and confident about how to train effectively. Regularly review fitness product quality and consistency, addressing issues promptly. Take responsibility for responding to member queries, using AI agents to resolve enquiries efficiently. Carry out Duty Manager training to become a trusted key holder 2. Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and support the fitness team during day-to-day operations. Provide clear priorities and direction during shifts, particularly at busy times. Support recruitment by contributing to values- and capability-based selection of fitness professionals. Coach and develop team members through regular feedback and support. Act as the deputy to the Product Experience Manager, supporting leadership coverage when required. 3. Operational Standards & Safety Ensure health & safety procedures and safe systems of work are consistently followed. Take ownership of housekeeping, cleanliness, and equipment standards within fitness areas. Support audits, checks, and safe-working practices in line with club standards. Act as Senior Manager on Duty, working closely with other leaders to ensure smooth club operations. Support the day-to-day running of the club, including opening and closing the building when required. 4. Commercial & Product Support Recognise that strong product delivery drives engagement, retention, and member success. Support the Product Experience Manager in delivering fitness and personal training performance. Encourage member engagement with fitness products and services through confident coaching. Help maximise gym floor utilisation through effective team deployment and programme delivery. What We Are Looking For Experience leading or supporting others within a fitness or physical activity environment. Confidence working hands-on in a busy gym setting, leading from the front. Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to engage both members and colleagues. A recognised fitness qualification at CIMSPA Level 3 or above, with experience delivering 1:1 and group training. Emergency First Aid Certificate, or willingness to complete the training. Exposure to product performance targets such as engagement, retention, or personal training revenue. Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, or development of fitness professionals. National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). Please note that this role is subject to a DBS check.
