# Growth Marketing Specialist **Ballentine Vineyards** · San Francisco, CA · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 10 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Ballentine Vineyards Growth Marketing Specialist ABOUT THE ROLE For over 120 years, Ballentine Vineyards has been farming some of Napa Valley's most storied estate vineyards. We are four generations deep, award-winning, and still family-run. That kind of history doesn't market itself, and it shouldn't be handed off to someone who just wants to check boxes. We're looking for a Marketing Specialist who wants to get their hands on every part of the business: DTC, wine club, the tasting room, wholesale, and a social presence we're building. This is a builder's role, not a caretaker's. You won't be handing strategy to an agency and waiting for results, you'll be the one strategizing, planning, and executing, day in and day out. You'll see your ideas go from a content calendar to a TikTok video to a wine club sign-up to a top-line revenue number, and you'll own that whole arc. WHAT YOU'LL DO Top-Line Wine & DTC Growth - Own the DTC ecommerce growth strategy — driving top-line wine sales through email, SMS, paid social, and on-site conversion optimization. - Build, schedule, test, and send email/SMS campaigns (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Corksy) that convert prospects into buyers and buyers into repeat customers. - Analyze campaign and funnel performance (open rate, click-through, conversion, AOV, LTV) and use insights to continuously improve segmentation, timing, and offers. - Partner with the creative team to ensure DTC content reflects brand voice, visual standards, and current release priorities. - Set and track monthly/quarterly DTC revenue growth targets in partnership with leadership. Wine Club Growth & Retention - Own wine club acquisition strategy — building campaigns and on-site/tasting room touchpoints that grow new member sign-ups. - Develop retention and win-back campaigns to reduce churn and grow member lifetime value. - Partner with the hospitality team to ensure every visitor has a clear path to club membership. - Report on club growth, churn, and revenue-per-member, adjusting strategy based on results. Winery Visit Growth - Build and execute marketing campaigns designed to drive tasting room reservations and winery visit traffic. - Partner with hospitality and events teams to market tastings, tours, and on-site experiences across email, social, and paid channels. - Coordinate visit-driving promotions tied to seasonality, new releases, and local/regional tourism opportunities. - Track and report on visit volume, booking conversion, and on-site spend per visit. Social Media Strategy & Content Creation (TikTok Focus) - Own the social media strategy across TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms, with TikTok as the primary growth and content-creation focus. - Plan, film, and edit original short-form video content — vineyard and cellar stories, tasting notes, behind-the-scenes, trends, and winery visit/club promotion — built specifically for TikTok's format and algorithm. - Grow followers, engagement, and organic reach through a consistent, trend-aware TikTok content cadence. - Plan, launch, and optimize paid social advertising campaigns (Meta, TikTok Ads, and others as needed) to support DTC, club, and visit growth goals. - Report weekly on paid and organic social performance, adjusting content and targeting strategy based on results. - Manage community engagement — comments, DMs, and UGC — across all social channels. Google Ads and SEO/GEO Development - Develop key google ads for localized tourism - Create and optimize google business pages - Plan, create and partner with other departments on SEO driving content, blogs, digital tastings, development of tasting notes, growers notes and product descriptions. - Ensure all website content is optimized for AI search and SEO PR Support - Ensure all press releases and talking points are on-brand and aligned with release and event timing. - Work closely with winemaking, hospitality, and sales teams on unique stories, grower/vineyard showcases, and partnership opportunities. Content Calendar & Cross-Team Collaboration - Build, manage, and maintain a unified content calendar spanning email, social/TikTok, wine club, tasting room, and web. - Collaborate closely with winemaking, hospitality, sales, and creative teams to align on messaging, timing, and priorities. - Maintain the agenda for weekly marketing team meetings. - Keep stakeholders informed of upcoming deadlines and proactively flag scheduling conflicts. New Release & Seasonal Launches - Manage the marketing timeline for new wine and releases, coordinating across winemaking, hospitality, creative, and sales teams for on-time, cohesive launches. - Develop go-to-market materials for new releases, including email, TikTok/social content, and tasting room collateral. - Ensure all marketing collateral is placed correctly at the winery and any retail/wholesale locations via regular audits. Events - Manage and support marketing for winery events, wine club events, tastings, and trade activations. - Coordinate event logistics, materials, and follow-up communications with hospitality and sales teams. - Create social/TikTok content live from events to drive visit and club growth. - Represent the winery at select in-market and trade events as needed. WHAT YOU BRING - A doer's mindset — you'd rather strategize, plan, and execute the work yourself than hand it off and wait for results. - 3–5 years of marketing experience, ideally within wine, DTC/hospitality, or a related consumer brand. - Proven experience creating and growing TikTok content — you understand trends, editing, hooks, and what drives organic reach. - Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp) and paid social ad managers (Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager). - A growth mindset — comfortable owning revenue and growth metrics across DTC, club, and visits, not just activity metrics. - Comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously without losing sight of the details. - Strong written communication skills and an eye for brand-consistent creative. - Experience with content calendar and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Airtable, Notion). - A collaborative approach to working across marketing, hospitality, sales, and winemaking teams. - Genuine interest in wine and the brand's mission and standards. - Willingness to travel locally and support occasional evening or weekend events. - Valid driver's license required. WHY BALLENTINE VINEYARDS Since 1905, Ballentine Vineyards has farmed and crafted award-winning wines from some of Napa Valley's oldest estate vineyards, a legacy brand with a real story to tell. Joining our marketing team means getting hands-on, multi-channel experience across DTC, wine club, tasting room, and social, and the autonomy to be a true doer: the person strategizing, planning, and executing the growth of a brand with a century of history behind it and real room to build what comes next. Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Benefits: - 401(k) - Dental insurance - Employee discount - Flexible schedule - Health insurance - Paid time off - Vision insurance Application Question(s): - Are you comfortable being held to goals directly tied to sales - Are you a self starter that is comfortable setting goals for the position and allocating your time to meet the goals? - Are you comfortable traveling to and working wine marketing / tasting events? Experience: - Direct marketing: 3 years (Preferred) Work Location: Hybrid remote in San Francisco, CA (San Francisco County)
