This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to influence sustainability strategy at scale. Working across multiple manufacturing sites and business functions, you'll lead environmental compliance, drive continuous improvement and support the delivery of our sustainability and Net Zero ambitions. Partnering with senior leaders across Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Technical, you'll provide expert guidance that helps reduce environmental impact, improve performance and ensure compliance across our European operations. Key Duties You will: - Lead environmental compliance across our manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations. - Manage and continuously improve our environmental management systems, including ISO 14001. - Coordinate Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas reporting in line with recognised standards and reporting requirements. - Support the delivery of our sustainability strategy, including Science Based Targets and Net Zero commitments. - Identify opportunities to reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency and deliver operational improvements. - Develop environmental performance reporting, KPIs and insights for senior leadership teams. - Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to strengthen supplier sustainability performance and reporting. - Provide expert environmental guidance across the business, ensuring evolving legislation and best practice are understood and implemented. - Support environmental audits, investigations and compliance activities. - Build environmental awareness and engagement across teams, helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement. Ideal Candidate We're looking for a passionate and experienced environmental professional with the ability to influence, challenge and drive change across a complex manufacturing environment. You'll have: - Experience managing environmental compliance within manufacturing, FMCG or a similarly regulated industry. - Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements. - Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 environmental management systems. - Practical knowledge of Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon reporting and greenhouse gas accounting. - An understanding of sustainability frameworks, including the GHG Protocol, SBTi and Net Zero programmes. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate environmental data into meaningful business insights. - Excellent stakeholder management and project leadership skills. - The ability to influence and build relationships across multiple functions and levels of the organisation. - A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering or a related discipline. - Professional membership or qualifications such as IEMA or Chartered Environmentalist status would be advantageous.
