# Graduate Trading Administrator **William Rowland Ltd** · Barnsley S75 3DZ · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role JOB TITLE: Graduate Trading Administrator REPORTS TO: Trading Coordinator (day-to-day) / Finance Director (line manager) BUSINESS: William Rowland Ltd LOCATION: Sheffield FUNCTION: Commercial – Specialty Alloys (Revert) PURPOSE OF JOB To provide hands-on commercial support to the Revert Alloys trading desk — processing orders, preparing quotations and handling customer enquiries — while learning the market, product and systems needed to progress toward a trading role. This is a genuine graduate entry point into trading, not a finance or data-entry role: the jobholder works directly alongside the Traders and Trading Coordinator from day one, building the commercial instincts and market knowledge that trading demands. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Trading & Order Support ● Process purchase and sales orders promptly and accurately into the ERP/trading system, following instructions from the Trading Coordinator or Traders — learning how the desk runs from the inside. ● Prepare and submit quotations under direct guidance, applying pricing policy while building a working understanding of margin, market movement and pricing decisions. ● Vet customer enquiries, orders and schedules against agreed specifications and delivery limits; escalate anything requiring commercial judgement to the Trading Coordinator or Trader — the first step in developing that judgement yourself. Customer & Market Exposure ● Act as a first point of contact for routine customer and supplier queries, building the relationships and market feel that underpin good trading. ● Handle straightforward customer queries and complaints promptly, escalating complex cases; shadow Traders on more complex calls and negotiations where possible. ● Support stocktakes and stock reconciliations alongside Operations, building a practical feel for stock position and market timing. Data & Records ● Administer segregation reports and maintain accurate records in the stock and ERP system. ● Maintain up-to-date product specification records and notify customers of routine changes as directed. Development ● Provide general administrative support to the Trading Coordinator and Traders as required. ● Build product, market and systems knowledge with a clear, active view to progressing into a trading or trading support role. VISION & CONTEXT This role exists to grow future traders. It gives a graduate a structured, hands-on route into the Revert Alloys trading desk — learning the market, the product and the customer base from the ground up, working alongside the Traders and Trading Coordinator daily. It is deliberately commercial in outlook rather than administrative: the jobholder is expected to actively develop pricing awareness, market feel and customer relationships, with a clear progression path toward a trading or coordination role. Day-to-day direction and mentoring come from the trading desk; formal line management and appraisal sit with the Finance Director. KEY CONTACTS Internal ● Trading Coordinator — day-to-day task direction, mentoring and training. ● Revert Alloys Traders — market and product guidance, quotation coaching, escalation. ● Finance Director — line management and formal appraisal. ● Operations team — stocktakes and processing instructions. ● Accounts — routine order and account queries. External ● Customers and suppliers — routine order, schedule and specification queries, and early relationship-building. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS KPI Target / Measure Order & quotation accuracy ≥98% error-free at next-day review Quotation turnaround Issued within timescale set by Coordinator/Trader Market & product knowledge development Milestones agreed with Trading Coordinator met on schedule Customer query / complaint response Acknowledged within 24 hours; escalated within agreed SLA Segregation report administration Zero unactioned reports outstanding >2 working days KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE ● Educated to degree level in any discipline — we're looking for commercial curiosity and sharp numeracy rather than a specific subject; business, economics and STEM backgrounds have all worked well. ● A genuine interest in trading, markets or commerce, and clear motivation to build a career on a trading desk — this matters more than prior sector experience. ● No prior industry experience required — full training given on product, market and systems. ● Strong numeracy and excellent attention to detail; pricing and order accuracy matter from day one. ● Confident, credible communicator, comfortable building relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels. ● Basic to intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP/trading system experience is a bonus, not required. ● Organised, proactive and driven to progress quickly into a trading-facing role.
