The candidate will be responsible for line balance, meeting daily output targets, enforcing strict gold metal loss limits, and maintaining standard craftsmanship quality for plain gold, studded, or explicit karat products. Key Responsibilities - Line Supervision & Workflow Management: Manage day-to-day operations across production departments (Casting, Filing, Setting, Laser, Polish, Assembly) to ensure orders move smoothly and meet delivery deadlines. - Production Planning & Scheduling: Translate customer/sales orders and CAD models into daily job cards; allocate raw materials, master alloys, and labor to optimize output. - Metal Loss & Inventory Control: Enforce strict precious metal balance protocols (issued gold vs. returned finished goods + scrap/dust) at every stage to keep physical metal loss within permissible factory thresholds. - Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Conduct multi-stage inspections for defect prevention (porosity in casting, stone alignment, finishing, precise dimensions, hallmarking accuracy). - Team Leadership & Workforce Productivity: Supervise line workers, bench jewelers, and machine operators; train staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and address bottleneck areas. - Yield & Waste Reduction: Analyze daily scrap, lemel, and re-work rates to optimize manufacturing processes and minimize raw material waste. - EHS & Maintenance: Ensure safety compliance across melting, chemical processing, and machinery work areas; schedule periodic machine maintenance to eliminate production downtime. Key Requirements & Qualifications - Experience: 8–10 years of hands-on experience in gold jewelry manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or senior shift-lead role . - Technical Mastery: In-depth technical knowledge of gold jewelry processes—including Investment Casting, Handcrafting, Stamping, Laser Cutting/Welding, CNC, and Setting (Prong, Pave, Bezel). - Metal & Karatage Knowledge: Solid understanding of gold alloys (18K, 21K, 22K, 24K), physical metal properties, soldering points, and refining reconciliation. - ERP & Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience using Jewelry ERP systems (e.g., Oratech, JewelSuite, custom ERPs) for job-bag tracking, labor costing, and metal weight logging. - Leadership & Problem Solving: Strong team management abilities, conflict resolution skills, and a track record of driving daily production KPIs under tight delivery windows. - Education: High School Diploma or Bachelor's Degree; formal certification or diploma in Jewelry Manufacturing Technology/Metallurgy is a strong advantage. Preferred Skills (Plus) - Experience supervising both machine-made (chain/casting/laser) and handmade jewelry lines. - Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S floor management, or Six Sigma waste reduction principles.
