The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Global Product Strategy & Management Director for Automotive Electronics Solutions you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: - Leads the development and execution of the global portfolio strategy for Automotive Electronics Solutions, driving sustainable growth across Electrical & Electronics (E/E) architectures, software-defined vehicles, connectivity, electrification, thermal management, and emerging automotive technologies. - Implements portfolio investment, innovation, and commercialization strategies that accelerate new product introductions, expand specification positions with global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and maximize long-term portfolio value and profitability. - Determines strategic priorities through market intelligence, competitive analysis, customer engagement, and technology trend assessment, identifying growth opportunities and positioning the business to capitalize on evolving vehicle architectures and mobility trends. - Supports the development of customer-centric technology and product roadmaps by aligning OEM requirements, industry standards, emerging technology trends, and commercial objectives to create differentiated solutions and sustainable competitive advantage. - Leads strategic partnerships and executive-level relationships with global automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and key industry stakeholders to strengthen market presence, influence future specifications, and unlock new growth opportunities. - Implements cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Application Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful product launches, operational readiness, and achievement of growth and profitability objectives. - Leads and develops a global team of Global Product Managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on strategic thinking, customer engagement, talent development, innovation, accountability, and business results. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) - Ten (10) years' combined years of experience in automotive electronics, electrical architecture, vehicle systems, or adjacent automotive technologies in a private, public, government or military environment - Five (5) years of experience leading global or regional teams and influencing cross-functional organizations. - Five (5) years of experience developing and executing portfolio growth strategies, commercialization plans, and new product introductions. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: - Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) with strong business, strategic, and financial acumen. - Experience managing complex, global business portfolios and making investment, lifecycle, and resource allocation decisions. - Executive-level engagement with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and industry partners - Proven ability to develop and execute long-term portfolio strategies, anticipate industry shifts, and translate market trends into profitable growth opportunities. - Deep expertise in automotive electronics, including vehicle electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures, software-defined vehicles, connectivity, electrification, and emerging mobility technologies. - Demonstrated success influencing senior executives, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders in a complex global environment without direct authority. - Strong customer and market orientation, with the ability to convert customer insights into strategic investments, innovation priorities, and commercial growth initiatives. - Extensive experience partnering with global automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, with a strong understanding of automotive value chains and product development cycles. - Established track record of leading, developing, and coaching high-performing global teams while driving alignment across commercial, engineering, and product management organizations. Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Livonia, MI or at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
