This is not a desk-only management position. The General Manager will be responsible for leading employees, managing staffing, solving operational problems, maintaining high store standards, and ensuring both locations operate smoothly and remain properly staffed during all business hours. The General Manager will serve as the primary point of communication between ownership and employees and will be expected to take ownership of daily operations while working within the policies, standards, and budgets established by ownership. Minimum Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in convenience-store or retail operations Previous management experience supervising employees and store operations Experience with employee scheduling and staffing Experience hiring, training, disciplining, and managing employees Dependable transportation and reliable attendance Ability and willingness to work approximately 10 hours per day , depending on operational needs Must be available on call and on weekends when necessary for staffing shortages, emergencies, or significant operational issues Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of both locations Manage, supervise, train, and hold employees accountable Hire employees and handle disciplinary matters; terminations to be coordinated with ownership Prepare weekly employee schedules within the labor budgets established by ownership Ensure proper staffing and shift coverage during all business hours Handle employee call-outs and arrange coverage when necessary Monitor attendance, time records, missed punches, and overtime Maintain and enforce company policies and operating standards Ensure high standards of customer service, cleanliness, organization, and overall store condition Address customer complaints, employee issues, maintenance concerns, and operational problems Monitor inventory shrink, theft, waste, and other irregularities Ensure pricing, promotions, merchandising, and required programs are properly executed Ensure employees follow applicable age-verification, safety, and company compliance requirements Coordinate routine maintenance and contact approved service providers when professional repairs are needed Provide ownership with a weekly operational report covering staffing, employee issues, maintenance, customer concerns, and store conditions Schedule & Availability This is a hands-on management position requiring strong availability and commitment to the operation. The General Manager should expect to work approximately 10 hours per day , depending on business needs, and must be available by phone when necessary after leaving the stores. The General Manager must also be available on weekends when needed and respond appropriately to staffing shortages, employee call-outs, emergencies, and significant operational issues. Financial Authority Ownership retains responsibility for banking, accounting, bookkeeping, bill payment, taxes, financing, major expenditures, contracts, and overall financial management. The General Manager is responsible for operating both locations within the labor and operational guidelines established by ownership and may not financially obligate the company without prior authorization. Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary: $62,400 Benefits include Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, and One Week Paid Vacation per Year.
