We're looking for an exceptional General Manager to take full ownership of one of our restaurants. But this isn't just another General Manager position. We're specifically looking for someone with the ambition, commercial ability and leadership potential to become a future Operations Manager within Shrimp Shack. You'll initially take responsibility for leading and improving one restaurant. Once you've demonstrated that you can consistently deliver strong financial, operational and people performance, we'll begin developing you towards responsibility for multiple Shrimp Shack locations. THE ROLE As General Manager, you'll have full ownership of your restaurant's performance. You'll lead your team, drive sales, control costs, maintain exceptional standards and create a great customer experience. We're looking for someone who thinks beyond simply running shifts. We want someone who understands how to run a successful restaurant as a business. You'll work closely with the founders and senior management and, as you develop, gain increasing exposure to the wider operations of Shrimp Shack. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES People & Leadership Recruit, lead, motivate and develop a high-performing restaurant team Build a positive culture based on accountability and high standards Coach and develop Supervisors and future managers Manage team performance effectively Ensure the restaurant is appropriately staffed Build effective rotas while controlling labour costs Develop a management team capable of running excellent shifts without constant supervision Commercial Performance You'll take ownership of your restaurant's numbers, including: Managing the restaurant P&L Delivering sales and profitability targets Controlling labour costs Managing food costs and waste Monitoring stock and stock variances Identifying opportunities to increase sales Reviewing weekly KPIs Creating and delivering performance improvement plans You should be comfortable explaining not only what the numbers are, but why they are where they are and what you're going to do about them. Restaurant Operations Take full responsibility for day-to-day restaurant operations Maintain consistently high food, service and cleanliness standards Ensure company systems, procedures and SOPs are followed Manage ordering and stock control Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions Work closely with Head Office to continuously improve restaurant performance Customer Experience Deliver an outstanding experience for every guest Monitor customer reviews and feedback Resolve complaints professionally and effectively Coach the team to deliver consistently excellent hospitality Identify opportunities to improve the overall customer journey Food Safety & Compliance Maintain excellent Food Safety and Health & Safety standards Ensure company policies and procedures are followed Maintain strong audit results Ensure corrective actions are completed quickly and effectively YOUR ROUTE TO OPERATIONS MANAGER We want to develop our future Operations Manager from within Shrimp Shack. Once you've demonstrated consistent success within your own restaurant, you'll gradually be given exposure to wider responsibilities, including: Supporting other Shrimp Shack restaurants Coaching and mentoring other managers Supporting underperforming locations Conducting operational audits Assisting with new restaurant openings Reviewing performance across multiple restaurants Developing and implementing SOPs Supporting senior management recruitment Helping introduce new operational systems Participating in wider business planning Progression isn't based simply on length of service. It's based on performance. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 2–3+ years' experience as a General Manager within restaurants, QSR or fast-casual hospitality Proven experience managing a busy restaurant Strong understanding of P&L management Commercially minded and confident working with numbers Proven ability to control labour and food costs Strong leadership and people-management skills Experience recruiting, training and developing teams Highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused Excellent customer-service standards Comfortable being held accountable for results Ambitious and motivated to progress into multi-site management Previous experience supporting multiple restaurants or new restaurant openings would be advantageous.
