General Manager

We’re recruiting a General Manager for an established accounting and bookkeeping business that has recently been acquired.

With an existing client base and a team of accountants and bookkeepers, the business is looking for someone to take ownership of daily operations, strengthen client relationships and drive further growth.

This would suit a commercially minded manager who enjoys meeting clients, developing business and keeping a team organised.

The role

• Oversee day-to-day operations and coordinate the accounting and bookkeeping team.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and managing service expectations.
• Manage incoming enquiries, meet prospective clients and convert leads into new business.
• Present and sell accounting and bookkeeping service packages as and when required.
• Support client retention, renewals and opportunities to expand existing accounts.
• Work closely with the wider business setup team to develop referral opportunities.
• Monitor business performance and identify ways to improve processes and grow revenue.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in general management, business development or client services, ideally within professional services, accounting or business setup.
• A track record of winning business and managing client relationships.
• Strong organisation, communication and team management skills.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of the business.
• An accounting or finance background would be a significant advantage, although an accountancy qualification is not essential.

The role combines office-based management with external client meetings. We’re looking for someone who can join as soon as possible, with notice periods considered.
