General Ledger Accounting Specialist
About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accounting Specialist to oversee and maintain the accuracy of financial records across multiple corporate entities. In this specialist-level role, you will lead complex month-end close operations, perform high-level balance sheet reconciliations, execute variance analyses, and drive audit readiness in alignment with global accounting standards and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Financial Integrity & Close Management: Manage end-to-end month-end close schedules, prepare complex journal entries, and ensure compliance across multi-entity financial statements. Discrepancy Resolution & Risk Reduction: Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account variance reviews; investigate root causes of discrepancies and deliver effective, timely resolutions. Process Excellence & Collaboration: Partner across global business units to refine general ledger workflows, strengthen financial control frameworks, and enhance reporting efficiency. Audit & Compliance Management: Maintain robust documentation to support internal and external audit requirements while upholding standard financial policies and regulatory procedures. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with at least 5 years of combined experience in general accounting, audit, general ledger management, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing. ERP & Technical Skills: Practical experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms (such as Oracle or SAP) with a clear understanding of transaction flows into the general ledger. Analytical & Communication Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills to analyze financial data alongside fluent written and verbal English communication skills for stakeholder management. Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. (Not mandatory) Experience working within a multinational organization, global shared services center, or multi-entity environment. Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, workflow mapping, and internal control frameworks.
