General Ledger Accountant
Job Summary The Accounting Manager – General Ledger & Reporting oversees the General Ledger, financial reporting, and closing functions of an importer and distributor of salt, chemicals, rice, and other agricultural products . The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, timely reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee General Ledger and Financial Reporting operations. Manage and review journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations. Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Review and ensure timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and financial schedules. Analyze financial data, account balances, and variances and recommend appropriate actions. Oversee accounting for inventory, product costs, purchases, importation, and landed costs . Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of inventory and cost-related transactions. Coordinate with AP, AR, Credit & Collection, Inventory, Warehouse, Logistics, and Operations teams to ensure complete and accurate financial information. Establish and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and compliance with deadlines. Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely submission of required schedules and documentation. Ensure compliance with Philippine Accounting Standards, tax regulations, and other applicable requirements . Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controls. Provide financial insights and accounting support to management for business decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field . At least 7 years of relevant accounting experience , preferably with managerial or supervisory experience. Strong background in General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, and month-end closing . Experience in importation, trading, distribution, or manufacturing is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting , including landed costs. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced in SAP or other ERP systems . Strong understanding of Philippine Accounting Standards and tax regulations. Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. High level of integrity and professionalism.
