This individual will lead product and feature development, managing a portfolio of generative AI use cases from initial intake through delivery, adoption, and ongoing improvement. The Product Owner will own the product backlog, establish priorities, translate business challenges into actionable requirements, and serve as the primary bridge between Customer Operations stakeholders and the technical AI development team. This role will also help shape responsible-AI governance, change-management practices, and scalable intake and delivery processes. The successful candidate will join a cross-functional pod consisting of product and program leadership, business stakeholders, and Gen AI builders. Key Responsibilities - Own the Gen AI use-case backlog, including intake, evaluation, prioritization, sequencing, and delivery. - Prioritize opportunities based on business value, technical feasibility, user impact, regulatory considerations, and risk. - Translate Customer Operations challenges into clear problem statements, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation requirements. - Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, operational leaders, and the technical development team. - Lead discovery sessions, validate requirements, resolve questions, and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the product lifecycle. - Define measurable success criteria for each use case, including accuracy, adoption, customer-service deflection, handle-time reduction, and operational impact. - Establish evaluation criteria and determine when probabilistic AI solutions are sufficiently accurate, reliable, and safe for release. - Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning. - Track team velocity, sprint performance, delivery milestones, dependencies, risks, and release progress. - Maintain backlog transparency and ensure daily task status and hours are accurately recorded in Azure DevOps or a comparable Agile platform. - Coordinate responsible-AI and governance activities, including privacy, cybersecurity, risk, and compliance reviews. - Define human-in-the-loop workflows, evaluation standards, monitoring requirements, and appropriate AI guardrails. - Lead change-management and rollout activities, including training, end-user communications, adoption planning, and feedback collection. - Conduct research and benchmarking on Gen AI trends, emerging capabilities, and comparable enterprise or utility implementations. - Develop presentations, documentation, roadmaps, and status updates for executive, operational, and regulatory audiences. - Identify and implement improvements to governance, intake, prioritization, and delivery processes. - Promote a customer-focused culture by addressing the needs of both internal stakeholders and external customers. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree. - 2–5 years of relevant product ownership, product management, or Agile delivery experience. - Demonstrated experience managing an Agile product-development team as a Product Owner or Product Manager. - Experience supporting Gen AI, conversational AI, intelligent automation, or a related AI-enabled product. - Ability to define evaluation criteria, quality thresholds, and release-readiness standards for probabilistic AI systems. - Experience developing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, product backlogs, and roadmaps. - Knowledge of SAFe or comparable Agile delivery frameworks. - Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or another Agile product-management platform. - Ability to balance multiple assignments and changing priorities across a complex stakeholder environment. - Strong facilitation, stakeholder-management, and written and verbal communication skills. - Experience producing formal presentations and documentation for executive or regulatory audiences. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. - Previous experience overseeing employees, contractors, vendors, or cross-functional delivery teams. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with responsible-AI principles, AI governance frameworks, model evaluation, or AI risk-management practices. - Background in utilities, telecommunications, financial services, healthcare, or another regulated industry. - Knowledge of Customer Operations processes, policies, rules, and regulatory requirements. - Vendor-management experience. - SAFe, Scrum, Product Owner, or Product Management certification. - Experience supporting enterprise-scale AI adoption or workflow-automation initiatives.
