Garage Floor Supervisor / Workshop Manager

Job Summary:

The Garage Floor Supervisor / Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the garage, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality vehicle servicing, and adherence to safety standards. This role requires a strong technical background as a mechanic combined with leadership skills to manage a team of technicians and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities and job assignments
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanics and technicians
• Diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide technical guidance
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet quality and safety standards
• Monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of jobs
• Maintain proper documentation of work orders, repairs, and inventory
• Coordinate with service advisors or management on job status and customer requirements
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Manage tools, equipment, and workshop cleanliness
• Assist in procurement of parts and inventory control

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a mechanic in the automotive/garage industry (5+ years preferred)
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues
• Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with workshop management systems is an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Qualifications:

• Diploma or certification in Automotive Engineering or related field
• Valid driving license (preferred)
