Furniture Estimator & Draughtsman (AutoCAD)

The role You turn a confirmed customer specification into everything the factory needs to build it right the first time: a costed estimate, a clear drawing, material quantities and a panel cutting list. You are the link between sales and production.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for custom joinery and upholstery from site measurements, sketches and customer requirements, using the company costing sheet (materials, labour hours, delivery, margin).
• Produce 2D production drawings and elevations in AutoCAD for wardrobes, TV units, cabinets and custom sofas.
• Generate panel cutting lists, hardware lists and material quantities per job; optimise board usage.
• Check that drawing, cutting list, quantities and cost agree before release to the factory manager.
• Maintain revision control when a customer changes a specification after deposit.
• Support the purchasing team with technical specifications for supplier quotes.
• Visit sites in Dubai and Sharjah for measurements when required.

Requirements

• Proven experience estimating and drafting for a furniture or joinery workshop in the UAE.
• AutoCAD proficiency (2D essential; 3D such as SketchUp is a plus).
• Working knowledge of MDF, plywood, laminates, PU finishes, hinges and runner systems, foam and upholstery construction.
• Able to read sizes and drawings accurately and to explain them to factory staff.
• Excel or Google Sheets for costing. English required; Hindi/Urdu is a plus.
• UAE driving licence preferred.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
