This role requires strong expertise in frontend and backend engineering, cloud-native application development, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and modern software delivery practices. The engineer will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering team members to translate business requirements and user experiences into reliable, maintainable, and performant software solutions. The role will also contribute to architectural decisions, shared platform components, engineering standards, and the continuous improvement of development workflows. About the Role This is an opportunity to work on a modern, cloud-native product ecosystem built around a TypeScript-first technology stack. The successful candidate will contribute across the full software development lifecycle—from designing component-driven user interfaces and REST APIs to implementing cloud infrastructure, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and secure multi-tenant capabilities. Key Responsibilities Software Development & Architecture Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications. Build full-stack features using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js, and REST APIs . Develop reusable, maintainable, and component-driven frontend applications using React, TSX, and Vite . Implement backend services using Node.js and TypeScript , following clean architecture and maintainable coding practices. Design and implement APIs using schema-first development and well-defined API contracts. Develop middleware for authentication, authorization, validation, logging, error handling, and request processing. Contribute to architectural decisions involving monorepos, multi-app frontends, shared packages, and modular application design. Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve application scalability and reliability. Frontend Engineering Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces using React and TSX. Develop reusable UI components and shared component libraries. Implement effective state management patterns for complex frontend applications. Work with product designers and UX teams to translate Figma designs into high-quality user experiences. Apply UX/HCI principles to ensure intuitive navigation, usability, and cross-device compatibility. Optimize frontend performance, bundle size, loading times, and overall application responsiveness. Backend & API Development Design and implement robust RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript. Define and maintain API schemas, validation rules, and contracts. Implement business logic, middleware, error handling, and service integrations. Work with both DynamoDB and PostgreSQL / relational databases based on application requirements. Design data models, queries, indexes, and persistence strategies for performance and scalability. Manage database schema changes and version-controlled migrations using Liquibase where applicable. Ensure APIs follow security, reliability, observability, and maintainability best practices. Cloud, Infrastructure & DevOps Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, and Docker . Contribute to serverless architecture and cloud infrastructure design. Define and manage infrastructure using Pulumi with TypeScript and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Implement secure, repeatable, and environment-specific infrastructure provisioning. Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and operational readiness. Assist in troubleshooting production issues, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive measures. Testing & Quality Engineering Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests . Use Vitest for unit and integration testing and Playwright for browser-based E2E testing. Implement test strategies covering functional behavior, API contracts, UI workflows, and regression scenarios. Create and maintain snapshot tests where appropriate. Ensure adequate code coverage and reliable automated test execution in CI pipelines. Participate in code reviews and promote clean code, maintainability, and engineering best practices. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers. Authentication, Security & Multi-Tenancy Implement and maintain authentication and authorization mechanisms using SSO, SAML, and OAuth . Develop and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) . Contribute to secure multi-tenant application architecture and tenant-level data isolation. Follow best practices for application security, identity management, access control, and data protection. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and address security risks and vulnerabilities. CI/CD & Engineering Practices Build and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions . Configure automated builds, type checking, linting, testing, and code coverage checks. Follow Git-based development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, and trunk-based development practices. Contribute to monorepo management, shared libraries, and reusable development tooling. Improve developer experience through optimized build, test, and deployment processes. Maintain technical documentation, API documentation, architectural decisions, and development guidelines. Collaboration & Technical Leadership Work closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver product features. Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, sprint planning, and estimation activities. Break down complex requirements into clear, actionable engineering tasks. Review code and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality and consistency. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support their technical growth. Stay current with emerging technologies, cloud-native practices, and modern web development trends. Take ownership of assigned deliverables and proactively communicate risks, dependencies, and progress. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of relevant software development experience , or equivalent practical experience. Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and JavaScript . Proficiency in React, TSX, Vite, and component-driven frontend development . Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript . Experience designing and developing REST APIs and implementing middleware. Knowledge of schema-first API development and contract-driven engineering. Strong experience with unit, integration, and E2E testing . Hands-on experience with Vitest and Playwright . Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, and Docker . Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi , preferably with TypeScript. Strong knowledge of DynamoDB and PostgreSQL or other relational databases . Experience with database schema management and migrations; knowledge of Liquibase is preferred. Experience with observability, structured logging, monitoring, and production troubleshooting. Experience working in Agile / Scrum or similar product development environments. Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical architecture decisions. Exposure to performance optimization, accessibility standards, and secure software development practices.
