You'll design scalable systems on AWS, write clean and well-tested code from the front end to the database, and work closely with QA, product, design, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performing software. You'll also work with our hardware team to integrate software with connected devices over Bluetooth. Experience building software for medical devices is a strong plus. This is an on-site role based in our Woodland Hills office. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain full stack web applications, APIs, and backend services - Lead architecture and technical design decisions for new features and systems, with a focus on scalability, security, and maintainability - Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, using services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and ECS/EKS - Implement infrastructure as code using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform - Design, build, and release mobile applications for iOS and Android, from development through App Store and Google Play deployment - Develop and maintain Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality, including device discovery, pairing, connection management, and data exchange between applications and hardware devices - Work closely with the hardware team to define communication protocols, troubleshoot device connectivity issues, and test hardware-software integration - Translate UI/UX designs from Figma into responsive, pixel-accurate front-end components, working with designers to refine the user experience - Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and partner with QA engineers to build and maintain automated test coverage - Set up and improve CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable deployments - Review code, mentor other engineers, and promote engineering best practices - Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using tools such as CloudWatch - Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with product and stakeholder teams Required Qualifications - 5+ years of professional experience in full stack software development - Strong front-end skills with JavaScript, TypeScript, React or Angular, and HTML/CSS - Strong back-end skills with one or more languages such as Node.js, Java, Python, or C# - Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, MongoDB) - Hands-on experience designing and deploying applications on AWS - Experience developing and shipping mobile applications for iOS and Android, using cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) and/or native development (Swift, Kotlin) - Proven experience in software architecture, including microservices, serverless, event-driven design, and RESTful API design - Experience with Bluetooth or BLE connection management in web, mobile, or desktop applications (e.g., Web Bluetooth API, react-native-ble-manager, or native Android/iOS Bluetooth frameworks) - Experience working with hardware or firmware teams on device integration and testing - Working knowledge of design tools such as Figma, including inspecting designs, extracting specs and assets, and collaborating with designers - Experience writing automated tests and working with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, or PyTest - Solid understanding of testing methodologies and the software development life cycle, including Agile and Scrum practices - Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline) - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical decisions clearly - Ability to work on-site in Woodland Hills, CA Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - Experience developing software for medical devices or other regulated healthcare products - Familiarity with medical device software standards and regulations, such as IEC 62304 (software life cycle), ISO 13485 (quality management), ISO 14971 (risk management), and FDA requirements for medical device software - Experience working in a regulated development environment, including design controls, traceability, verification and validation documentation, and HIPAA-compliant data handling - AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, AWS Certified Developer) - Familiarity with BLE concepts such as GATT services, characteristics, and advertising - Experience with IoT or connected-device products - Experience with native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) development, and with App Store and Google Play release processes - Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) - Experience with GraphQL, message queues (SQS, SNS, Kafka), or caching (Redis, ElastiCache) - Familiarity with application security best practices and compliance standards - Experience leading projects or mentoring junior engineers Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $140,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year; Median: $125,000.00 per year benefits: health, dental, vision, PTO: 4 weeks , 10 company holidays Work Authorization Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
